We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Richard Clarke testified before the 9/11 Committee yesterday and said two things of interest: (1) President Bush scaled back the effort to eliminate Al Qa'eda after he took over on January 20, 2001; and (2)that there was never any want of resources to battle terrorism under the UOx42 Administration.
Not to belabor the point, but one would have to set aside certain realities to accept that situation. UOx42 only shot missiles into tents, and only did it when he was caught with his pants down--literally. As stated yesterday, the country was not focused on terrorism as a main issue from January 20, 2001 till September 11, 2001, at 8:47 AM EST. But look at the response of this President: on September 13, 2001, the leader of Al Qa'eda remarked that Americans were hiding in their "caves". Who, today, is quite literally hiding in a cave?
But was is most interesting, is Clarke is inconsistent. His book condemns President Bush, yet there was a press briefing in August 2002 that praised the President's efforts.
Elsewhere, Hamas states that any Israeli anywhere in "occupied Palestine" (Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank) is subject to attack, and attacks will continue until Palestine is liberated.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

He PLANNED this a year ago. He knew he was going to have his moment of fame. He testified privately saying one thing and testified publicly saying the polar opposite. That is deliberate! Think about the planning involved in this...to work with the 9/11 Commission for a year telling them one thing privately...then come out with a book and testify to something else publicly. Amazing. And perjury, I would imagine. While I concur with your assessment regarding preplanning for release of the book. I am having a difficult time coming to grips with the possibility that Clarke 'PLANNED' to commit perjury. He's smart enough to underdstand the consequences of lying under oath. I just can't buy into this part of the "Preplanned Theroy".

I, for one, cannot imagine the outrage if a Bush supporter said that a lib black woman acted as though she didn't know who AQ was by the look on her face. This alone would have been the major story for weeks. JJ, Sharpton, all of the Caucus would be on TV stating their anger.

He's smart enough to underdstand the consequences of lying under oath. The penalties for perjury are not as prohibitive as they were in earlier eras. We have a former president who not only committed perjury but suborned perjury and he walked. I'm sure Clarke has already thought about a defense should become necessary. I bet he feels that the issue won't come to that.

ABC hiring Clarke is really the icing on the cake, isn't it??
Limbaugh said yesterday that it was unheard of for a former NS advisor to so quickly write a book, and in a time of war, of all things, too.!!!

Yes, thank you again for praying about the message. I've just gotten back from the school's basketball games and I heard from a parent of a kindergartener. The child came home excited about the chapel and told her mom the whole story including the teaching about maintaining spiritual growth. Then, when her dad came home she recounted it yet again. This was EXACTLY what I was having y'all pray for. Thanks so much for helping our ministry here. My kids have received many well-deserved kudos today. They did a very good job.

Guenevere called last night and wanted to know how to get to FR. Unfortunately we were gone. Did she call you?
To: Jemian
The penalties for perjury are not as prohibitive as they were in earlier eras. Alas, your are correct. I errored by placing my own values into the mix. You're probably right in your assumption. It's quite probable that Clarke wouldn't have a second thought about perjury.

Clarke is in Indianapolis today granting interviews to locals and speaking on cyberterrorism at the university this afternoon.
I bet this guy has speaking engagements all over the country, where he is going to poison the local news. I thought you might know someone who is interested in this.
To: Miss Marple
If you find out he's coming to Iowa, let me know. I'm tied down for a couple more weeks, then I can cut loose if I need to.

I am going to call the university and see how they booked him. Then, perhaps, I can find his schedule.

It's not clear to me either if he testified privately under oath or just gave them a "blueprint" of how to proceed as Commissioner Lehman said.
Even if not perjury, it is clear that he told them one thing privately and another publicly. All while planning and writing his book and public testimony.
It takes a special mind to do that.

Link is here and what we need to know. Lehman said on Tuesday that Clarke TESTIFIED privately to the Commission. He said when he started to hear about Clarke's book that "this can't be the same Clarke that has worked with us."
