May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
The sun shine warm upon your face.
The rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

Evenin' Amy, John.
Don't know if this was an Irishman or not...

A man left for work one Friday afternoon. But, being payday, instead of going home, he stayed out the entire weekend partying with the boys and spending his entire paycheck.

When He finally appeared at home, Sunday Night, he was confronted by a very angry wife and was barraged for nearly two hours with a tirade befitting his actions.

Finally his wife stopped the nagging and simply said to him. "How would you like it if you didn't see me for two or three days?"

To which he replied. "That's fine with me."

Monday went by and he didn't see his wife. Tuesday and Wednesday came and went with the same results.

Then on Thursday, the swelling went down just enough where he could see her a little bit out of the corner of his left eye.

St. Patrick's day is with us,
The day when all that's seen
From right and left
And everywhere is green, green, green.

I'll wear an Irish shamrock
In my coat the glad day through,
For my mother and father are Irish,
And I am Irish , too!

LOL

Thank you, Dave.

Seems as though we could call him an Irishman, at least for one day!

How is everything to the North?

God bless you. (I was going to say that word that starts with a 'g' but I don't know how to spell it :)

The blossoms are about gone on the almond trees here. Last Saturday I took pictures of plums, nectarines and cherries. I can't remember the post number for the plums, but I posted the nectarine pictures in #210 in yesterday's thread. The colors were wonderful.

Everything is so pretty now for those who do not have allergies.

Will you be able to post the almond trees?

Wearing of the Green
Aileen Fisher

It ought to come in April,
or, better yet, in May
when everything is green as green-
I mean St. Patrick's Day.

With still a week of winter
this wearing of the green
seems rather out of season -
it's rushing things, I mean.

But maybe March is better
when all is done and said:
St. Patrick brings a promise,
a four-leaf-clover promise,
a green-all-over promise
of springtime just ahead!

The Irish Snake

There is a green grass snake named Shawn
Whose best friend is a leprechaun.
They hang out in the misty moors
And sometimes on the Irish shores.

The leprechaun, whose name is Lou,
Cooks shamrocks in his Irish stew.
His shillelagh stirs the pot just right,
John always hisses for a bite.

Across the land this special pair
Is talked about 'most everywhere .
It's such a mystery, goodness sakes,
For Ireland's said to have no snakes.

But occasionally the two are seen,
This leprechaun and snake of green,
And Irish hearts sing out with cheer,
"We're glad to know a snake lives here."

Life's Seasons

Read: Psalm 71:1-21

By You I have been upheld from birth . . . . My praise shall be continually of You. —Psalm 71:6

Bible In One Year: Deuteronomy 30-31; Mark 15:1-25

When we are young, we can't wait to grow up. When we are old, we look back longingly to former years. But God intends that we joyfully take each season of life as it comes. Whatever our age, He imparts what we need to be all that we can be. He asks us to commit our way to Him and accept the struggles He allows and the strength He provides.

A woman who was facing the difficulties of aging asked Bible teacher J. Robertson McQuilkin, "Why does God let us get old and weak?" McQuilkin replied, "I think God has planned the strength and beauty of youth to be physical. But the strength and beauty of old age is spiritual. We gradually lose the strength and beauty that is temporary so we'll be sure to concentrate on the strength and beauty that is forever. And so we'll be eager to leave the temporary, deteriorating part of us and be truly homesick for our eternal home. If we stayed young and strong and beautiful, we might never want to leave."

Are you in life's springtime? Trust God's timing to fulfill your dreams. Are you in life's summer or autumn? Face your daily challenges head-on. And if you feel winter's chill, draw close to the Lord. His presence can make every season of life one of strength and beauty. —Dennis De Haan

Only this hour is mine, Lord—
May it be used for Thee;
May every passing moment
Count for eternity. —Christiansen
