May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
The sun shine warm upon your face.
The rain fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

  THE DEMOCRAT

there is an art to bashing Bush
developed by a donkey's tush
with lies and hate they feel no shame
in tearing down his honored name
and yet they come with not, but hate
with no ideas to legislate
flip-flopping every question asked
their motives always blurred and masked
they pick a leader, a blinded guide
who knows not truth and can't decide
his only platform "tear Bush down"
yet millions vote this silly clown
the biggest basher has no class
the leader of the lop-eared ass
the donkey, ass, the weasel, rat
are well earned names for the Democrat

It was a generously proportioned table
just what I needed for the task
thinking nothing of the transfer
I moved it in from the deck
and organized my work accordingly

5 classes of student work to grade
the result of a month's illness
and a month of letting it pile up

Somwhere
between the rapid heart rate of too much coffee
and the resulting skittishness
something caught the corner of my eye
slowly crawling across the table

As I was engrossed in the tediousness of my work
I had no sooner swatted that object into oblivion
when another appeared on the scene
then another, another, and another

My late nite grading session
interrupted
by a table infested
with spiders
