The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...

Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

But not yet weary are our feet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Kyyyyyyyle's mom is a ....

LOL!--Kyle's mom is so hella-lame. And BTW, it was Kyle's mom who appeared on the cover of Crack Ho magazine, not mine--I don't know where you guys got that from. . .

After the DNA testing has been done, Dr. Mephisto has narrowed the list of possible fathers down to: Officer Barbrady, Chef, Jimbo, Mr. Garrison, Ned, Chief Running Water, Gerald Broflovski, himself, his little friend Kevin or (as he says) the 1989 Denver Broncos. The narrator reiterates the question "Who is Eric Cartman's father?" and that listing (with one notable change) as the episode ends on a cliff hanger.

I knew there were others around here who would be entertained by the concept.

Email from Dad, kitty update:

Kitty is home. He was at first skittish but that didn't last ten minutes. Then for the next hour plus he sat on Dona's lap on the couch seeming to thoroughly enjoy being rubbed and scratched and petted. It's an even call as to who needed that the most. It was VERY mutual...

The vet told Dona that he has no idea how long the Kitty has before developing symptoms of a developing problem. Could be a week, could be weeks, or months, who knows? Then he told a story of a dog he had seen today, from which he removed a huge cancerous growth in his mouth and gave him no more than two or three weeks. He saw that dog again today - for an unrelated problem - and it was almost a year ago that he did that surgery. So that's where we are.

I'm here now if you are. I got really busy in the classroom. Only one student left though so I should be able to leave soon.

Finished emailing? What happened last night? I thought you were coming back to our party later. :-)

UGH! This last month is Hella-month.

We are painting the nursery! I can't really help much right now cuz like a goofball, I have been remiss on my water intake and as a result have a cracked heel. I *know* 2J would appreciate the irony. I told her to drink lotsa water, and here I am... not drinking my water, and look at what happens!

Aside from that and a sore throat, I have the usual pregnancy complaints. Not much longer! 5 or 6 weeks to go.

tsk tsk tsk... all this happened just so you'd feel guilty you know.

Sorry to hear about it though, I can tell it's upsetting to your dad and Dona. :-(

Last I checked... I thought Nyquil already had alcohol in it to the tune of about 20 proof or so. If a little is good, more is almost always better.

Hmmm.... sorry to hear you're so tired. Do you have a good excuse for that? Working on that landscaping again last weekend? Or partying to much! :-)

I took him to comfort little old ladies in nursing homes. I would not use the devil as a therapy pet.

He's the devil.

Now, you should feel very guilty for that! Refer back to previous posts and email about how sick that poor little helpless kitty is. And you're talkin' about him like that!

Yah... Dona especially.

That cat and I have never really gotten along. I think it's because he sees me as "Josie's" person and she hates Josie and therefore me by extension.

He jumps in my lap *specifically* to dig in all four claws in my legs and jump away.

But I *still* wouldn'ta wished all this on 'im.

No good excuse. Just tired. Sure, I hauled more gravel over the weekend, but that usually helps me sleep, not the other way around.

Dunno. Probly just the job. Too much happening.
