The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...

Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

But not yet weary are our feet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I've seen a few different versions of 20,000 Leagues--the Disney version, an old silent one, plus a recent one. Around the World in 80 Days is a great movie. Disney also did a fun version of Journey to the Center of the Earth starring James Mason and Pat Boone. Never saw League of Extraordinary Gentlemen--how was that?

Yes, I was the one telling you about burning DVDs--for informational purposes only, of course, since I would never do such a thing :)

Hope you feel less sick soon! I know how being spaced out on Nyquil goes--makes me feel light-headed when I take that kind of stuff. But it sounds like a good excuse to veg out and watch anime all day tomorrow :)

Well, if there was a way to get bread, milk, eggs, coffee, ice cream, mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce, green peppers, green beans, chicken, broccolli, tortilla chips, toilet paper, cheese, butter and such without going to town...

Why don't ya'll just start sending Ramius the list and makin' him bring that stuff to ya? He is always in town. He seems to not mind getting beat up! :-)

Sigh... I hope I feel sick enough to do that but if I'm less than dying I dunno.

Um, at some point could you email that info again? If you don't mind?

Whoa, this has the best music I've heard in an anime, other than Escaflowne, and I love the fighting artwork. Very vivid. Going to watch another episode now. Hmm... every character has loads of angst in the past but they spend half their time in pratfalls. Slightly odd.

What was that? Did I hear a request to sing a song about Ruthy's mom? Okay--and while I sing, I will do my German dance for you:

Don't leave!--if you go, we'll have to hire a new best friend, and it'll probably be someone lame like Tweak.

See your inbox for email which contains purely educational information on burning DVDs :)

BTW, I'm still in my Godzilla/MST3K festival--still got about 3 Godzilla movies and 16 6-hour MST3K tapes to work through :)

It's hard to believe they'd do that. But I'm not tellin'.

Me neither. I hesitated to post it on the thread even - but I knew there were others around here who would be entertained by the concept. :-)
