The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...

Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

But not yet weary are our feet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well, Dan the Saddle Man was just here trying the fancy pad we had special ordered last week to fit between Bay's back and ecurbh's new saddle. It wasn't right, so he is going to take it back and make a pad that fits him better. It is always good to have someone real good like that come out and fit new gear. It is hard for me to tell, and hard for a horse to tell me exactly where something hurts. It will be ready probably by Friday.

Huh. John Kerry could tell you exactly where something hurts, and he's just a horse's ass.

Those are all great shows. I am in charge of the video rooms for the Anime Iowa convention so I guess you could say I am knowledgeable.
I hope your kitty does better.

BTW, here's the Cinerama update:

On their website, they list ROTK as being there through the 25th. They seem to only post the schedule for the current week. When I check on "Coming Soon," however, the next movie coming doesn't start showing until April 16. I'm guessing, then, that ROTK will be playing there until then. That gives you more time to plan a trip up here if you and Ecurbh want to see it there. What do you think?

John Kerry could tell you exactly where something hurts, and he's just a horse's ass.

Got this from SSQ'a sister the other day. Fits perfectly with Arhg's sentiment.

Three New Hampshire surgeons were having lunch together and discussing surgeries they had performed. One of them said, "I'm the best surgeon around. A concert pianist lost 7 fingers in an accident. I reattached them, and 8 months later, he performed a private concert for the Queen of England."

The second surgeon said, "That's nothing. A young man lost both arms and legs in a terrible accident. I reattached them, and 2 years later, he won 2 gold medals in field events in the Olympics."

The third surgeon said, "You guys are amateurs. Several years ago a guy who was high on cocaine and alcohol rode a horse head-on into a train traveling 80 miles an hour. All I had left to work with was the horse's ass and a neck tie. He's now trying to get the Democratic nomination for President of the United States!"

Wow...that's very cool! You must have access to a lot of anime...to say the least.

So...is your screenname anime related? I've been wondering what it means.

Thanks for the good thoughts. If she at least feels fine for a good long while, that's the most important thing!

it means.... nothing! hehehe Ok DJ is my initials but other that that nothing really. I started using it back in 1995 and it is habit. I go by Azbel sometimes which is a spelling difference of Asbel of Pejite from Nausicaa. He did a lot more cool things in the manga. The movie is just a reworked version of the first 8th of the manga. I go by Mr No Brake when playing Halo which someone commented last night suited me fine just after I ran over them on accident with the jeep. I was braking at the time though :P

Bored at work.
