The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Bye bye Stanford....Maryland just lost too.

Don't think I wanna try and catch up! I needed to get away for a bit so packed up my tent, sleeping bag and dog to spend a couple of days out in the woods. I feel more human now. Especially after my shower! :-)

Sheesh! What a pathetic year for west coast hoops... AZ and Washington go down in flames in the first round, and now Stanford and Gonzaga are out of it.
I need a drink now. At least I still have a team to root for - whoever that d@mn Dook is playing!

Why don't you do something with your homepage?'Cause superheroes have to protect their secret identity :) Folks have already started to wonder if I'm really Clark Kent . .it's a good thing nobody suspects I'm really Peter Par--whoops!--I mean, um, Bruce Wayne (whew!--close call--Spider-sense was tingling there for a second. . .)

You know, you and my Grama would have made good buddies. There was nothing she liked more than sitting around watching basketball.... except playing basketball!
Funny, even after her knees got so arthritic she had trouble walking she'd get out on the court with nieces and nephews and give 'em a run for their money. hehehe

Well...it kinda comes and goes in spurts. I follow my team (UNC). Right now I don't have cable so I've been watching the other teams on network since the Busch race is cable only.
I'm subscribed to Yahoo sports to get the UNC radio broadcast online. I think I'll get the MLB online so I can listen to every stinking game that the stoopid Cubs play this year.

Heh, I just know the song. It's kind of one of those things young geeks are into singing. Like when we walk around quoting - "Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die".LOL! What's that from?
BTW, the song comes from the original version of the Spider-Man cartoon, which they used to show reruns of when I was little; I don't think it's on TV anywhere now, but some episodes are on video:
The Amazing Spider-Man: The Origin of Spider-Man & The Kilowatt Kaper (1967)
