President Bush traveled to New York today to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Nassau County 9/11 Memorial in Eisenhower Park, Long Island, being built in memory of the 281 residents of Nassau County who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks, and visited with families of the victims. Before he left, he made a statement to the press regarding the terrorist attack in Madrid, Spain.
He also visited USA Industries, an automotive parts manufacturing company in Bay Shore, New York, and spoke to workers about the economy and jobs training. He then attended a fund raiser with Rudy Giuliani and Governor Pataki.
There are lots of fabulous pictures today, so enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose !!

Yes - GROUND. Mike already set me straight.

I have been feeling a little uneasy that things are a little too quiet. The threat level is low, we are starting to feel secure again and they (al-Queda) aren't chattering. I am feeling that they are catching on to shut up when they are preparig to attack us so not tip their hand.
Anyone else feeling this way?

I still see the red x in yours
Right you are. I switched to another computer that didn't have that picture already loaded, and also see the red x.
I see you also shrunk the picture (actually made the file smaller). I wonder if that is part of why yours is working better.
Strange ... (Not something I say about computers as often as most folks ...)

I'M SO SORRY TO LEARN ABOUT MIKE'S CANCER SCARE!
I've chatted with a few of my physician friends and they, like others here at the DOSE, indicate that this form of cancer is highly treatable! Mike will be just fine!!! HOWEVER, they emphasized that he must be vigilant with both his post-operative care AND his future exposure to the elements, particularly the sun (sunscreen is going to become his middle name)!!!
My family and I will light another vigil light for Mike!!! Prayers up!!!

"I was there today to support President Bush. Happy to report, the supporters out numbered the demonstrators by a huge number. I asked 2 people who heard President Bush speak how it went. Both said the same thing: "He's a great man"
WE NEED A FULL REPORT -- LOTS OF DETAILS!!!!!!

He is on my prayer list.
I don't think that they will let he go back into a high exposure to the sun situation for a couple of months after the procedure for healing purposes. So if his job entails being out in the sun in Kuwait he can sign off on that one for a couple of months at least.

mystery, thoughts and prayers are with Mike.
To: mystery-ak
I'm just worried about Mike and him getting the care he deserves. :-)

He just doen't want anyone messing around "down there." But don't worry--if I have to be the one to have it done, he will pay BIG time. We're talking unlimited creditcard here, and two weeks of recovery time, at least . . . . :-)

Now and then, a post is sufficiently pregnant with possibilities that one ponders various followups, but sufficiently succinct and accurate, that there's nothing to add.
Like yours just now ...

I will double my prayers for your husband and for you. You also are under great stress and need all our support. Know that you are loved and we wait anxiously with you for Mike to come home. Blessings, etabeta
