AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1115) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | February 10, 2004 | All of Us

Posted on 02/10/2004 4:30:54 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

America will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of our country!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

President Bush visited Missouri, on the heels of Criminal Party wannabees, and lashed out at the efforts of those who would deny making many of his tax cuts permanent. The marriage penalty reduction, for example, is set to expire next year and would result in a tax increase to many folks. The President is correctly characterizing the effort, predominately being carried on by Criminal Party members in Washington, as a potential tax increase on America.

United States intelligence has ascertained there are several training facilities in Pakistan for terrorists. After training, the terrorists are routed through Europe and on to the United States where they are joining sleeper cells, merely waiting for orders and money to carry out attacks on America.

For many of the soldiers serving in Iraq, the search for WMDs is secondary--they say that capturing Saddam has made going to war justified.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Dear Fellow Mommies,

I just stopped by girchild's place to drop something off. She looked.....down. So I asked her if she was okay. She sort of shrugged and said "rough day." I asked her if she wanted to talk about it; she said "It won't do any good to whine." I said, no, but sometimes it helps to "spill". She just sort of shrugged again and shook her head. So I left.

I think her therapist doesn't want her "dumping" on me all the time the way she used to.......but sheesh, it's hard not knowing what the trouble is..........but OTOH she is entitled to her privacy and if she doesn't want to talk I have to respect that.......OTOH.........oh sheesh.......grapple, grapple........

Was I right in not pressing her further? Was SHE right in wanting to deal with whatever it is on her own??Am I an idiot for even letting things like this bother me???

......sigh..........

I know why it bothers me.

It's because of her history.

Wow, I have been to the other side on FR, and I can't believe the posters who think John 'ketchup boy' Kerry would be better for this country than president Bush. It is amazing.

Ugh, I feel so petty about my problems, I'll vent anyway. Today my supervisor pulled me in and said that after a meeting today, it was quite obvious that they didn't have the resources necessary to do the job. So I have been invited back to work, the contract will be another year, guaranteed...I have to tell them by Thursday afternoon.

And I'm on a rollercoaster of emotions again. I bought a surge protector and a print cartridge, then cried all the way home in my car. Relief??? I don't know. So I'm writing down the pros and cons of staying. My mom had a good point, evn though I don't have benefits or paid vacation or paid holidays, I wouldn't have the same thing if I didn't take the new contract, plus I wouldn't have a paycheck either.

OTOH, I would be a year older, no closer to putting money in a 401K, and potentially having to start over again somewhere else. Ugh. I hate decisions and I hate job interviews. Thanks for listening. :)

The press has anointed John 'ketchup boy' Kerry. One headline I saw says he has appeal in every region in the country because he has 'swept' the primaries in the South. I keep going back and forth about President Bush staying above the fray right now.

Oh my, I just saw a recent picture of Al Gore. I'm sooooooo glad he is NOT president. Yikes.

UG, speaking from this old ladys view point and from what I've seen of office policy and loyalty over the years, I think you are smart to make your list of pros and cons.

However, if it were me, I would take the 1 year contract, but would continue to look for something permanent with annual leave, regular raises, 401K, health insurance, etc.

Taking the one year contract doesn't mean you have to stay the entire year - unless there is some ironclad clause in that contract. So, if I were in the same spot, I'd take the contract and have my fingers crossed behind my back!

Hmmm..........well, if you hate job interviews, you can now put THAT off for another year.:)

I'm afraid I'm not much help.......my work situation is so entirely different from that of most people I know.........I have no good advice. Just prayers; and those I can offer in abundance.

Thanks. That is the exact advice my mom gave me. The pro is that I am a contract worker, I can leave after eight hours of work. I will still look, I do have an interview next week that I plan to go to. I am leaning that way...

p.s. And BTW you are not being "petty". Geez, how many times have I dumped my problems on this thread? How many times have I done it today??????

We are all about sharing & caring here (well, along with all that other stuff.....you know, the REAL WORLD and politics and all of that.;^)

I have been sitting here trying to think about you and your daughter. I have no advice to offer, but you are in my thoughts and prayers. I know with my sister, the hardest part for my mom is learning when to help and when not to.

Yup. That is the hardest part.

She called a little while ago.......wanted a bit of help with an assignment, and since it had to do with music, I was actually able to help her.;^)

Al is horrible.

His "speech" of the other day ranks right up there with Dean's rant in Iowa. They are both loony.

I think it is abolutely delicious that Dean's campaign began tanking right after algore endorsed him....heeheehee........
