The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Our friend on that thread never did respond to my last.... And the she-type you were talking to... I have not seen male posters who rip on women's basic worth as much as she does.

For some.... the internet is a place to vent and rant against the machine. They aren't looking for fellowship, only to win at something.

Sheesh. You are enjoying your life as it is, but also look forward to a time when there's a companion to share it with. I don't understand what the guy's problem was with that.

I think that's the bottom line. They don't want advice or pity or commiseration...they just want to put people down.

Sometimes I am up for debate, I can dig that, but about halfway through it you can tell when you are debating someone who isn't there for the right answer, they are there to out-fight the opponent. It leads them to say silly things when the topic is men and women.... Maybe we have an awful lot of people who get ~it~ wrong in this country, but pairing up is still the main goal in most people's lives, and even the ones who get it wrong wanted happiness. I would assert that no one goes into a relationship with malice, but it is amazing how many talk that way.

Would a lot of that come from the water?

Yeah..the chloroform would. Back when I was doing volatile analysis they would decaf the coffee by extracting it with methylene chloride. The acetone was debatable...the "geniuses" who set the lab up put the instruments across the hall from the extraction lab....duhhhh.

THAT is precisely what bothers me most. And you can't win against people like that.

They act as if all we single wimmin do - young/old, conservative/liberal, no matter what - is to sit around plotting how we can entrap unsuspecting men, have a couple of kids, and then destroy them and rip their hearts out. Um...I don't have that much time. I'm too busy enjoying life, and trying to become a better person myself!

Tucson is a nice area, no? If I ever move somewhere else, it will have to be mountainous...

Tucson has many mountains... it kind of lies in a valley with mountain ranges on all four sides. An hour away is Mt. Lemmon (9,000 feet) where you can even go skiing. If I had to live in the desert, it would be in Tucson. There is nothing that would make me live in Phoenix.

Mt. Lemmon is in the background here, and all the red brick buildings in the middle are the University of AZ campus (my alma mater).

Didn't you get the memo? This is now the Official Favorite Female Pastime. You gotta collect scalps, too, for your wall.
