The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Your team is NC State, right? Or is it UNC?

UNC.

Morning; well, you're right on both counts, yes we miss her on our walks and yes we're going to get another, but not a pup.
We'll probably go for another older dog, been looking at a couple of shelter websites. The rescue websites have some real heart-breaking stories about the dogs. We would like to save them all but we can only help out one at time.
OT; same here, Mizzou knocked off A&M and then lost to KU. short-short season. Now to put up with all Jawhawkers at work, sigh.
Oak trees, kewl, but you may need to re-pot them often. :-)

Hehehe....I tick off both sides at work. KU and Mizzou? Who cares?! :)
Quinn Snyder is still a Dookie.

Shelter dog sounds like a wonderful idea. I can't even look until I am looking. Wish I could take them all too.

Well, time to get a-moving, hmmm, what to do? guess I'll check out the basement. :-)

Good morning! I'm getting my hair done today. Also have to run (guilty look) - I felt too blah to get it in last night so I have to do it today. I'm running today, too. So that works!
Still wondering if I'm really gonna be able to do twenty minutes at a time by the end of this week...but I'm half looking forward to trying. Am I crazy?!?

Hmmm.. ought to try my workout soon, once I digest lunch. Until then, homework time.
My hair looks pretty good! Hopefully it'll be easy to do.

The same company did versions of Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Silver Chair. Our kids liked them.I didn't know there were more--will have to find those. Thanks! :)

I had one of those! Actually I think we had two different sets over the years...one from the eighties and one that had belonged to my Mom's youngest sister as I recall, and must have been from the sixties. Barbie.Oh, yeah, I remember they had Barbie ones into the 80s at least, too. They also had one for boys to draw superheroes, except it wasn't called Fashion Plates, of course--I forget what it was called.
Probably worth something now...but I wasn't exactly easy on toys, and then there came the next seven kids...
Sounds like what happened to my toys. I remember one time I wanted to see if it was possible to remove my Batman doll's head from his body--assuming incorrectly I'd be able to reattach it. . .

I've read the first two Narnia books--need to get around to the others sometime. How are the later ones?
To: Fedora
Some of them are better than others. The allegory is more subtle and, imo, more meaningful in, say "The Silver Chair". "Voyage of the Dawn Treader" and "The Last Battle" were also really good, "Horse and His Boy" and "Magician's Nephew" had their high points. (I think you'd find Jadis, from Magician's Nephew (and of course she's the witch in Lion Witch and Wardrobe) interesting.

I plan to read the whole series eventually. Also need to read the Perelandra books.
BTW, last night I was trying to fix the plot problems in my story that we were discussing, and in the process I came up with a whole new subplot that I'm excited about--I'll tell you more later.
