The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I think Rosie is talking about theBBC / Wonderworks Production of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. It was slightly cheesy, but I liked it better than the animated one.

The same company did versions of Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Silver Chair. Our kids liked them.

On the other hand, I swear I look and feel trimmer.

Muscle weighs more than fat, Rosie, so if you're exercising a lot, you may be replacing fat with muscle, thus the slight weight gain. It will start going down in time. As you exercise, you're getting your bod in shape, so your clothes will naturally fit better!

Good Job!!

A superficial cleanup is easier in a bathtub, but a tub, be it porcelain or fiberglass, holds blood evidence that can't be scrubbed away. And if you rinse the blood down the drain, you'll leave evidence in the drain trap.

That's right! My sister worked on a case in S. MS of two men who kill a third man, who had come in from out of town to do a drug deal. The man had brought his girlfriend along, and the other two held her hostage, and did other things to her, while they were torturing the guy. She heard them when they killed him, but they made the mistake of leaving the house for a while, and she was able to get free and get out of the house. The police were concerned about the lack of a body, or any evidence of a crime, but after talking with the girl, checked out the bathtub drain. Sure enough, there was evidence there. They'd taken the body in parts out to the bayou for nature to do it's work.

Needless to say, that woman needed some TALL therapy after that ordeal, but my sister said that when she showed up the following year for the trial, she was actually doing well.

Hmmm--maybe if she could find one of these: Fashion Plates

Heh...

I had one of those! Actually I think we had two different sets over the years...one from the eighties and one that had belonged to my Mom's youngest sister as I recall, and must have been from the sixties. Barbie. Probably worth something now...but I wasn't exactly easy on toys, and then there came the next seven kids...

Don't know if anyone is keeping an eye on the thread at Lone Star Moot, but just in case, we're fixin' to hit the road. Looking to be there around 11:00 am!

And to everyone else: yes, I'm bringing our camera, so expect some pictures sometime tonight after we're home again.

Good morning! I'm getting my hair done today. Also have to run (guilty look) - I felt too blah to get it in last night so I have to do it today.

Bear's up early?

~looking at her clock~

If I were among the good people, I would prolly also go for a walk. I bet your walks are not nearly as fun without Samantha chasing the bunnies for you, and you still go. Good for you said your lazy pal. You think there will be another walkin' buddy pup for you soon?

Still getting too cold at night here to have much growing. I wish we could at least get started growing grass!

Morning.

My stooopid team lost in the first round yesterday so I think I'll go to the lab for a few hours and get in some instrument time.

The bleeding heart that I brought from NC is putting out leaves and I need to divide some Christmas cactus. Those stinkin' squirrels planted acorns in my cactus pots and now I have 3 oak saplings. Maybe I'll just pot 'em up.

Yeah, my stooopid team lost in the second round last night... to the same team for the THIRD time this season. Ugh. This team isn't gonna make watching the NCAA's much fun this year.

Grumble, grumble, grumble......hopefully, we'll get a NCAA bid....then they can be stoopid again.

We ended up 20-9, so we should still get in, probably as a 8 or 9. I'd be surprised if they get further than two games in, the way they are(n't) playing... grumble, grumble, grumble.

We've been ranked in the top 20 for most of the year so I think they're expecting a bid.
