Hmm, maybe it's the exercising... I just couldn't sleep last night, and this morning the covers were so warm...

Exactly! Though I didn't have tooo much trouble falling asleep once I finally went...but I was wide awake until after eleven. Probably should tried to sleep earlier. *yawn*

Oh well. Tonight I can be lazy. Or kinda...have music night tonight and I need to get the place straightened up. And if it's anything like last week, people will hang out afterwards talking for a long time. That was fun, too, though.

Yup. Work and school until 6:45, choir at 7:30, home just before 10. That leaves just time for a shower, a bowl of ice cream, a little homework and bed.

Sounds a little like doner kebabs. Ooohh...man are those good. There was a guy that had a place right on base that sold 'em when I was in Germany. We were right next door, and about ten you'd start to smell that meat cooking. *drool*

I think my shop alone kept him in business. ;-) Can't get those here. *snif*

The one I had blow was an 11 liter Dodge diesel. It was a steel sleeved iron block design. One of the sleeves split, I'm not sure what else was lunched at the same time.

It left a very impressive steam screen. The problem with that was the tailpipe exited under the Front bumper, my vision was obscured.

Yesterday was downhill, although it was telemarking not regular downhill. So not quite as much work as you're thinking, but more work than regular downhill skiing.

My sunburn is a pretty good one. My coworker says I look like a racoon! But it was worth it!

I believe they were usually lamb.

But you may be picturing something different that what they are. They aren't sis kebabs (or kebap, as I think they actually spell it) - more a big spit with stacked, seasoned meat that they would shave meat off of to put in the pita or roll with sauce. Here's a picture of a doner kebap meat cooker:

Not the best image, but I couldn't find many. The outside gets kinda crispy and it all has spices all through it and then you can get various things on it - usually a yogurt and garlic sauce and peppers and such. OH, it's good. We'll have to find a Turkish restaurant someday that serves 'em. ;-)

That sounds good, except for the yogurt (I had a very bad yougurt experience once as a kid and now the sight or smell of it is enough to turn my stomach). That is different from what I was thinking of, though.

Getting ready to head to class. I won't be back until early evening, 5ish.

Too bad about the yogurt thing. I love the stuff...anything kinda tangy, really.

Only thing that was that way for me was Cheese Nips, of all things. Got carsick after eating them when I was maybe two, and couldn't get near them until recently. I don't mind them now, but for years the smell of them (especially when clinging to sticky younger siblings) made me ill.

Not exactly sure. He had a double major in Computer Science and Psychology (Cognitive). He's interested in Human Computer Interaction.

Good combination!--lots of interesting stuff being done on parallels between cognitive psych and computer language. Best wishes to him in whatever he decides to go into.

I like them, I'm not good at piecing stuff that's supposed to be sung togther remember, so whether or not I like it is somewhat immaterial because I'm visually tone deaf as well!

Yeah, I'm not allowed to listen to certain of my CD's while I have certain passengers trapped in my car with me.
*chuckle*
I usually listen to VARIOUS musicians of several genres.
(Metal, rock, soft rock, alternative, Christian rock..)
Stryper was a Christian metal band back during the 80's.
(Matthew Sweet, his brother, and two others comprised the band.)

Then again, I am also a product of the grand experiment ~open clasrooms~ that was abandoned because teachers had too much difficulty managing a class without walls.

My Dad used to teach in an open-walled classroom. The kids were hard to manage, though I'm not sure the walls were the only reason :)

Regarding giving kids a sense of history (history was one of my majors so I think about this sometimes), I'm in favor of a multimedia approach to teaching history that would include viewing historical films (I have this really useful book by George MacDonald Fraser called The Hollywood History of the World that catalogs historical films for each era of history), as well as good fictional films that tie into history (stuff like the Indiana Jones movies that have historically-interesting settings--I thought that Young Indiana Jones TV series that was on for a while could've been a good educational tool for teaching the WWI era, if it was better written), field trips to historical sites, wargame simulations for teaching wars like WWII, etc. as well as textbook study. To me history is most exciting when it seems 3-dimensional (kind of like I like to study Tolkien's history through his maps because it helps me visualize the stories). Also tying it to the Bible made ancient history seem more relevant to me. Likewise tying it to modern historical events also helped get me interested in modern American history--the debate between Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson suddenly became interesting to me when I realized how it related to modern political debate. That was how I got interested in history, anyway.

They are shortbread cookies (lembas) with a chocolate bottom.

We have another candidate for the nature of lembas contest! :)
