Paltrow: America is weird
London Standard ^ | 1/16/04

Gwyneth Paltrow wants to raise her first child in Britain - because America is 'too weird'.

The 31-year-old wife of Coldplay singer Chris Martin is due to have their first child later this year.

Paltrow said she would worry about bringing up a baby in the US adding: 'There's a weird over-patriotic atmosphere. It's like, "We're No.1 and the rest of the world doesn't matter".

'With all the guns in schools, it's not too great. We'll probably move about until school age and then choose a place and stick with it.'

"I think George Bush is such an embarrassment to America in the way that he doesn't take the rest of the world into consideration.

In January 1941, how much of the world was on this guy's side, Gwyneth?

The Germans? The Vichy French? The Russians? The Arab World? The South Americans? The Japanese?

The bottom line is that Gwyneth is a college drop-out who is no more qualified to lecture about history, geopolitics or national security issues than her manicurist is. All you get from her and most of these "Beautiful People" is a mindless repetition of Democrat bumper sticker slogans.

Gwyneth wouldn't last very long in a serious debate.

Additional comments by Paltrow. From the link:" I think George Bush is such an embarrassment to America in the way that he doesn’t take the rest of the world at all into consideration,”

Who gives a rat's ass about what she thinks? Not I.

Paltrow was just trying to remind everyone to renew their SAG membership.

Nothing against our British friends, but they also have problems over there. She'll learn the hard way.

I have to say that I do boycott the movies of actors/directors/producers who speak out against our country and leaders. The key for me has been trying to educate myself about who has said what about what or whom.

I believe in free speech, and I would not boycott a movie because an actor was a democrat. But if that same actor speaks ill of our country or disrepectfully or falsely of our conservative leaders -- especially while traveling abroad -- I will probably never pay to see another of their movies again.

"And it all seems to be for him and his friends to keep getting richer at the expense of a nation..."

What a dolt.

#1 W and Cheney, etc. would make making a boat-load more money in the private sector.

#2 They probably have more money than they could ever spend.

If we had more people like her during the Revolution, she wouldn't have had to move.

I'd be happy to buy this Hollywood half-wit a one-way ticket

I was thinking maybe she should go on a world-wide tour with the Dixie Chicks until her little RATchild grows up.

Perhaps it's about time we banned together and shut down Hollywood. Let's see how well they do w/out the 'Patriots" money.

Excellent point.

I really am sorry she blew it. I used to really like he=r as an actress, and I liked her cute/waife look too.

Quick. Someone revive Paltrow's publicist, and keep him away from the windows.
