Hey Jim(Robinson),

I've gotten some emails from people asking if Freerepublic can help them. They are dealing with unsympathetic judges(not to mention attorneys, social workers, and GAL's). This is about child custody and vistitation. There are so many horror stories out there, that I'm sticking my neck out and seeing if we can help them with positive ways to change the laws, and of course public perception :) Remember that sign I had for my first FReep? I believe that a child should know his/her real rather....and that a man should not be a victim and slave to the state.

Okay, can you let me know where people can post and reply on this site? It's not breaking news, it's not religion....

Exactly what are some of the "laws"???? Other than you can't present evidence or approach the bench or have a single witness besides yourself without a lawyer... and a lawyer in a custody battle means big bucks. IMnotHO... custody has turned into the bottom denominator called money. For the record, this isn't just a "dad" problem.

I think the courts should be more careful when they take their decisions. For instance, if a parent has had a previous case for visitation or any other violation to any agreement, and the judge has warned the parent for at least three times, the judge should order a psychological evaluation to parents, STEP-PARENTS AND CHILD/DREN and increase the visitation to the noncustodial parent, to avoid Parental Alienation.

I think that once the custodial parent has remarried, he/she should be involved in evaluations,subpoenas, court orders, etc., since they play a very important role in the child's life. And they should understand why is so important to the child's development, to maintain a good relation between child and NCP.

Exactly! Some folks don't exactly show discernment when choosing their next mate. The kids need to be protected. Unfortunately, it can cost upwards of 5k for a psychiatric examination. Psychos either nest with co dependents, or fellow psychos.

MY LAWYER JUST QUIT! NEED HELP!

just received an email from our lawyer saying that she is closing her office but will finish with the unfinished cases that she has, except ours because she doesn't see "any end to our case".

any ideas?

If we don't keep up the case we wont see my stepdaughter again and that already happened to us...

Anastasia1: Good grief! What a mess. So, your retainer money was spent I bet. NOW, you have to start over with the big down payment. This is a racket, I tell you. That is the law that needs dealing with. We'd have better luck finding legal help for getting fat and blaming the fast food joints. Personally, I am disgusted with the legal system and am beginning to have serious concerns about it. You will be in my thoughts and prayers!
