Yuck, flu spreads to 50 States. Gosh, hope that doesn't mean they impose further sanctions on me. :)

Enjoyed it, stay happy everyone, see ya later.

No need to wait. The answers are 1. Bad 2. Good 3. Walking shorts and sweatshirt (headed to a very cold beach). 4. Nice 5. Beige

Hey Ringy ... I can't remember a year when the flu skipped a state.

I am wondering if kids today could watch the Carol Burnett curtain dress shtick and "get" the joke. They are used to comedians who use bodily functions, cruel jabs and foul words to get the big laughs. Carol Burnett's clever vignettes and riotous slapstick - all with heart in them - might just whoooosh right over their heads.

Bess and Molly are at war. Someone gave Molly a powdered doughnut and she promptly carried it to the den and made a mess on a rug. LOL. Rug's red, doughnut white. Bess upset.:)

They never did have more than an armed truce since Molly decided Bess was herdable, did they?

Swervie and Mo: Since you are both here, I'll ask if you saw the post I made to you both a couple of days ago. You suggested to me that I might get copies of my Dad's service records. It has taken a year from when I started my search to get any information back. It seems that Dad's records were in the part of the St. Louis record center that was most heavily damaged by fire, smoke and water. I should get copies of what was recovered in the mail this week.

AND him saying he is a bachelor when he is twice DIVORCED. Yick.
I can't imagine the horror of sitting down with a democrat to do ANYTHING, much less eat.

Oh, I don't know.
I spent most of the '70s eating dinner, among other things, with Democrat Wimmin, even local officers in NOW.
They love a bad boy.
If you play all chauvanistic and say wimmin shouldn't have shoes, much less be able to vote, they go all gooey.
Then you tell 'em since they are all liberated they can pay for dinner and later in the evening they can do the hot sweaty part of the lovin'.

I saw your post, and I'm glad you could find something. That fire was a tremendous disgrace.

I was either sulking that day and not posting, or I had already gotten in so much trouble for my posts that I was afraid to say anything to anyone. I can't remember which, sorry.

That is true today, but it wasn't in the '60s and early '70s.
I'm not that kind, when the quality of the wimmin deteriorated, I switched to women.

Hey Cheri, I did see your post and meant to get back to you, but things around here have been crazy ... please forgive me :0)

My dad's records were destroyed in that fire also. It's good news that they were able to find some files of your dad's, like his medical records. They may offer more information for you to go on in finding out your dad's service in the military.

Once you get them, try checking out the Internet. Many of the WWII men have websites up to keep in touch with other men from their division and their family members.

The division my dad was with has one and there is a lot of information that helped me find what I did. I found out there were a couple of books writte about the 69th.

Plus they also have a message board for folks looking for buddy's or family members seeking anyone that might have know their loved one. They even put out a quarterly newsletter with all kids of stories about the war and memories from other men, along with news of any get togethers

Also, maybe ask your family members if they have saved anything from your dad during is service. My one cousin sent my sister a bunch of things, including letters that my dad wrote. After my one aunt passed away they found these things and sent the off to her. It helped me fill in some blanks about when my dad first went in the army. There was about a year that I couldn't figure what he did and the letters helped point me in the right direction

It's all very time consuming, but well worth it to know more about my dad.

Best of luck in your search

I have just received this from Road Runner cable about my email. They have been refusing to send or deliver mail sporadically now for over a week.

I don't understand this message. I am being told that I have to store all my mail on my computer? I thought my mail was on my computer and not being held by my server. Does anyone know what the heck is going on here? It has never happened before and I just don't get it.

I am going to call them, but was curious if anyone had this problem or knew what they were doing?

I have cable at home, and have never had to touch or delete or move my emails to a folder on my computer.

Warning: Your e-mail storage quota has been exceeded. This quota includes all folders, not just your Inbox. Please save your e-mail to your PC and remove it from the server or new mail may not be received.

It sounds like you or they or Cthulhu has toggled an option to store a copy of your email on the server.
I have had this problem with mail on other sites, but not on Roadrunner.
I have found Roadrunner tech support to be well trained and polite. I suggest you call them for an explanation, and have them delete everything on the server and reset it to delete everything once it is sent on to your machine.

I was thinking I'd contact a couple of his living sisters to see if they had any information. He came from a large family, but there aren't many left now. All of the brothers are dead now. I think there are three living sisters now. Once I know what unit my dad served in, maybe I can find some others whom he may have served with. Thanks, Mo.
