Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

Does anyone here know first hand how much damage would occur to a 737 that just took off and plunged into the water.Would it disintegrate upon impact or just break up?

There are several factors involved, the most significant being speed, weight of the aircraft at time of impact, angle of impact in the vertical, amount of pilot control prior to ditching.

Hitting water is not like hitting a feather bed. The impact can be violent. At takeoff, the aircraft is heavier, and this affects both stall speed--and the kinetic energy when hitting the water. The speed with which you hit the water is a big factor.

Just like in High School physics: Kinetic Energy = 1/2 MASS * Velocity (squared)

If the aircraft hits the water under reasonable pilot control, close to stall speed, in calm seas--then the chances of it being relatively intact are obviously great. Its always a puzzle for the accident investigators, but you would be amazed at the forensics of it all.

I totally agree that it's quite plausible for gold to spike before a major hit on us by AQ. But this isn't it. Gold has been much more volatile in the last few month due to many reasons. Primarily, IMO due to the dollar losing value. Now if gold spikes $50 to $100 suddenly, as a previous posted mentioned, I would be more likely to think something is up. I'm a rank amateur where gold is concerned. Maybe someone with a professional slant can add their 2 cents worth.

There's always a "reasonable explanation."

IMHO, I'm looking for a little more dramatic rise before I panic, but I'll be watching the charts. Yesterday's dramatic rise could be the beginning.

Here's what I've been thinking.

While it would be great for the Jihadis to have done New Years or Christmas, it would be easier and more effective to suddenly halt their chatter, and wait a few days. Then strike mid week while everyone is going about their normal business, like 9-11. To strike after everyone has breathed a sigh of relief and gone back to normal would be devastating to the psyche.

I've come to believe they have to make a big splash or lose credibilty. Desperate men make mistakes. Hopefully, they are getting desperate.

However, it would be sensible to be prepared.
I'm going to take some cash out of the bank today, and stock up again on basics. (let the supply run down over the holidays.)

We've made an emergency plan with the family. Hard since two of my kids are far away, but we have family near both of them. Since if there is a serious strike, cell phones and land line may be down, we've planned where people should go and who will meet whom. I've got the entire clan watching the news and communicating at least daily so we have a place to start from if we have to search.

I've also made sure that everyone capable of handling a weapon has access to one. My youngest is in Florida and if anything happens she will have to manage the grandparents and other elderly relatives. Since she is too young to own a gun and the grandparents are kind of silly, I hid weapons in their house and only she knows where the stash is.

I also gave her a crash course in finding makeshift weapons anywhere she happens to be, such as the coke can in the heavy sock, or the shuriken in her hair that looks purely decorative but can be deadly.

Thank God she is my little girl and listens to her (wise?) old dad. Also I am thankful she has met a fine young southern gentleman to watch out for her while she watches out for the old timers.

Here at home, should the (nearly)unthinkable occur, we are well prepared, even for an invasion. Guess i have too much free time:)

As I type this the chart just shot up almost two points.

Stay alert, stay safe, and if you are not armed, better get moving.

It may be too late to get into gold if AQ is going to buy into it...at first there may be a hugh spike...and then everyone will want to collect from the hugh run up and will take some money of the table...at least that is what I think...

Who is to say the Lord would not do the same to America and use and Osama or some other nation(s) that His will be done?
