The Lord works in mysterious ways. He destroyed the nation of Israel by the utilizing the tools of the Babylonians and finally the Romans. But His covenant with the the People remained intact. Now they are home, as promised, in Israel.

Who is to say the Lord would not do the same to America and use and Osama or some other nation(s) that His will be done?
Are we blameless in his eyes? Is any nations. No matter what happens His covenant with us through His Son endures for all time.

In the Old Testament, God did use the enemies of certain people/nations to punish them. God used the weather, too.
