No ordinary midterm — this election is a stark choice for America’s future
New York Post ^ | Oct. 25, 2026 | Victor Davis Hanson

There are two ways of looking at the midterm elections, now just a week away.

From one angle, it’s a simple referendum on the issues and politicians of the day.

From another, it involves a far deeper conflict of visions (as Thomas Sowell puts it): socialism vs. capitalism, intrusive vs. limited government, and the destruction of time-honored institutions and traditions vs. their preservation and renewal.

Rarely in American history have the two parties been so far apart — or the choice between them so stark.

In brief, Islamist-sympathizing socialism is on the ballot against free-market capitalism and American exceptionalism.

The new Islamist-allied socialist Democratic Party is confident, largely because the party holding the White House rarely gains House seats in the midterms.

Pundits point to President Donald Trump’s under-40% approval rating, the persistently high price of gas and public uncertainty over the Iran war.

But the choice goes much further: Voters face a “deep” midterm election that will help determine the nation’s very existence.

The new Democratic agenda is not about lowering gas prices.

Americans are being asked to hand Congress to what has become the most radical major party in US history, as socialists and neo-communists believe they can finally win statewide races.

Go back before 1994. It was not always this way.

The power of the old dominant progressive media was broken by Rush Limbaugh and others in the Republican Revolution in the 1994 mid-terms. After that, elections became increasingly important as battles between a restoration of a Constitutional Republic, and a morphing of Progressive leftism into Islamic favoring Fascism or Communism. More and more money has been thrown at the political races.

President Trump is presiding over a counter-revolution against the Progressive left, which has been slowly destroying the Constitutional Republic, ever since Roosevelt. With a real counter-revolution in progress, the Left is horrified and more violent than ever, buoyed up with foreign money.

We’ll know in 8 days whether we will follow in the footsteps of the downfall of Europe by embracing socialism and Islam or will continue on to struggle for freedom and liberty.

God help us.

I like ke the detection that this Election is moving. Early vote data shows and older Electorate, with the youth vote down slightly.

Good signs so far.

Arizona, Nevada, Texas are looking good.

We're behind in NC though.

We should be able to keep the Senate, at least.

The Democrats can’t do much if they capture the House. Yes, they’ll impeach Trump and his Cabinet. But that is going to be a stupid political move for them as we go into 2028.

Damnocrats have no plans to lower the price of fuel, of groceries, or even healthcare.

I wrote this elsewhere…what are the Republican’s plans?

The Pubbies are Dems circa 2024, just in reverse…”Dems are baaaaad. Vote for us, not because we offer anything, but because they’re commies, socialists, and very baaaad.”

In fact here is Ken Paxton’s election website. Right there, at the top and up front…what is his message?

KEN PAXTON UNSHAKABLE. UNBROKEN. UNAFRAID.

The Democrats have made Texas their top target, and they’ve nominated the most radical candidate in Texas history: James Talarico. This election will determine whether Texas remains the conservative stronghold that leads America or becomes another state controlled by the radical left.

KEN PAXTON IS LEADING THE FIGHT TO STOP HIM, BUT HE CAN’T DO IT ALONE.

That’s it…vote for me because I’m not Talarico. No vision, no philosophy, not even some pork.

This may be a blue wave kids.

Paxton has put criminals away….what has Talarico done?
And Trump has plans for more energy production- the Dem plan? More worthless solar and windmills, which can’t make enough power.

Every single election gets promoted this way now. It’d be nice if it resulted in more people actually learning about what’s happening and taking part themselves.
