In 2023 Lindsay Clancy sent her husband on an errand. While he was away she strangled their three children--5 year-old Cora, 3 year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan to death. Her efforts to kill herself were not as successful. She cut her wrists and neck and jumped from the home's second-story window. She survived, but was paralyzed from the waist down due to the fall.
Her defense counsel argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder and could not be held responsibility for her actions. The prosecution argued that the careful planning that preceded the killings demonstrated premeditation. The jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict despite lengthy deliberations and earnest prodding from the judge, who was then forced to declare a mistrial.
The crowd of Lindsay supporters that was camped outside the courthouse was dismayed that a reported single juror holdout against acquittal couldn't just be removed so Lindsay could go free. One told a reporter that "the new Massachusetts abortion-at-birth law justifies the right of a mother to terminate the life of her unwanted child. We all know that a baby terminated in the birth canal is a viable human being, not just a 'clump of cells.' I would argue that Lindsay would have even more justification because she had lived with her three brats outside the womb and had more reason to want to terminate them. She also did it more neatly without crushing their skulls and tearing them apart. Most of us out here in support of Lindsay hope the prosecutors will appreciate this and decline to retry her."
In related parenting news, Karyann Parkinson, a Virginia mother of five children ranging in age from 2 months to 14 years, was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for allowing her 5-year-old son walk from home to a nearby pond to collect goose feathers in their gated community. Her plea that "I made an intelligent, calculated decision based on knowing my sweet boy and what he's capable of," was rejected by the judge. Her name was immediately placed on a government child abuse and neglect registry where it will remain for seven years.

One additional child has now been murdered by a Lindsey Clancy “fan” in the past two days.
And TWO women on Fox News aligned themselves with the excuse that a lot of people saw news coverage of the Clancy murders and this isn’t provable as a trigger for being a copycat.
Disappointing.
Also said hanging by the neck in a basement is different than Clancy strangling the children with exercise bands.
Unbelievable.

Gosh, how ‘bout that kinder, gentler, nurturing sex. They went from getting the right to vote, to the right to abort their children, to cheering a woman who strangled her three children. You go girls!
