Amazon Cargo Plane Crash in Miami — Captain Reacts
YouTube ^ | 09/07/2026 | Captain Steeeve

A deadly Amazon cargo plane crash at Miami International Airport is now under investigation after a Boeing 767-300 freighter overran the runway while landing on September 6, 2026. The aircraft, operated by 21 Air and arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico, continued beyond the end of the runway, struck multiple vehicles, and caught fire. At least five people were killed and five others were injured.

Now, investigators are beginning to piece together exactly what happened during the landing — including the aircraft’s touchdown point, speed, braking performance, weather conditions, and whether any mechanical issues contributed to the overrun.

In this video, retired airline captain and naval aviator Captain Steeeve reacts to the footage from the crash, breaks down what can actually be observed from the landing, and discusses some of the major questions the NTSB will be working to answer as the investigation continues.

Saw captain Steeeve, that plane was cranking and
Just.
Wouldn’t.
Touch.
Down.
It just stayed in the air. Would t be surprised if the threshold speed Captain Steeeve reported was thirty five mph low.

I just saw his video also. He wonders, as I do, why they didn’t just go around.

"Maybe a DEI hire."

Maybe not. You're guessing based on your need to feel important.

You look closely at the pictures of that crash sight you’ll see just off to the right a parking lot for what ever reason, that lot has a small fleet of Tesla EVs parked in it.

If that jet would have gone a little further and hit some of those and THEY would have caught fire, that situation would have been a whole lot worse than it already was.

I'll be watching this vid later tonight. Steve is one of my fave YT folks. He explains things really well for us no-nothing people.

But the tin foils will still come out of the woodwork. :-)

The other threads on this accident are full of zombie DEI accusations. Keyboard warriors who have no respect until the investigation is complete.

Sorry, no thread like this is complete without an unserious, ignorant DEI comment - less than two days since the accident.

Keyboard warriors who have no respect until the investigation is complete.

They lost their respect after the TWA 800 investigation determined that the fuel tank combusted.

Captain Steeeve video explains all landing wheels must be on the ground to reverse thrust, engage the breaks, and one other thing I can’t remember.

That plane had no chance of doing all that since he was coming in some 35-40 knots faster than he should have.

The video also shows the plane “floating” down the runway instead of landing due to the high air speed.

And finally the pilot did put a wheel on the ground. The nose wheel. Coming down nose first is a huge mistake which can cause the plane to “porpoise”. Meaning bouncing up and down as it rolls out down the runway.

Fortunately the plane didn’t porpoise as it was going way too fast. Unfortunately the plane did run out of runway killing 5 people and injuring 5 more.

Cant activate reversers on the plane unless all rear tires(Landing Gear) are on the ground activating the sensors.

Video shows the left landing gear wasnt even close to the ground when the plane passed the halfway point of the landing runway.

Pretty obvious that the video showed the very basics of flying a plane. If you want to land, you need to slow down to a proper speed, flare when needed, and apply the proper braking equipment.
Throttle, nope, too much too late.
Flare, too soon.Still going too fast.
Good indication, they finally figured out they were in trouble, by touching down with the front gear, although not good form. At this point, they new they were in deep doo doo. They should have been standing on the brakes, even though it would eat all the tires, but they might have lived.
What’s a bunch of paperwork if you are still alive?

(Just a bunch of blather from a sailor)
