Researchers at the Marquette Law School Poll recently identified a sharp generational decline in trust across the United States. Americans born before 1960 still hold onto a baseline assumption that their neighbors will not rob them, given half a chance. They are the most trusting demographic in the country.
The numbers worsen with each successive generation. The cohort born in the 2000s registers the highest levels of distrust ever recorded by the project. A significant portion of young adults operate under the functional premise that everyone else is a threat.
The situation gets significantly uglier from there. A comprehensive 25-country survey published by Pew Research Center earlier this year found that Americans do not merely distrust one another. Increasingly, they see their fellow citizens as morally bankrupt. American citizens are far more likely to view their fellow countrymen as fundamentally evil than citizens of the other surveyed nations.
Specifically, 53 percent of U.S. adults explicitly stated that the average American has bad morals and ethics. This matters enormously. A society cannot thrive when most people no longer believe their fellow citizens are fundamentally decent.
Morality is the basic, invisible software that prevents human primates from tearing each other apart over grocery store parking spaces. It establishes the rules of engagement.

What’s missing from this essay of why hate is prevalent?
A frank discussion of black racism, socialism and the threat of Islam in our culture.

Giving over to Reprobate Hearts.
Evil divides and then conquers when you let it.
and that...
” that prevents human primates from tearing each other apart over grocery store parking spaces”
There is a certain species of primate that does that with some regularity
The institutional elite discovered that rage scales infinitely better than unity. A divided populace creates highly predictable voting blocks and captive consumer markets. This calculated division ensures that the industry of outrage remains fully funded and sustained. Every political campaign relies on the explicit premise that the opposition intends to dismantle civilization — either forcing you into communism or fascism, neither of which, if we are being honest, sounds particularly appealing.
Jesus came to divide. Jesus came to unite. How is that possible?
The point of division and unity is one point. You should know what that point is.
Notice that Trump divides AND unites. What is that point?
The democrats have too many division points but only one point of unification -——————— not Trump.

Why should they?
They have been taught by the schools and by media that America is the worst place in the world and that Americans are horrible people without any culture who should have all their stuff taken from them as repayment for some imagined fault their ancestors may or may not have committed.
But continue to not vet your children's schools. Set media before your children that you have not reviewed at all.
Your only goal is money, sex and dopamine hits.
Raising your offspring can be left to other people.
We used to be a High Trust society.
But now our culture is often at the level of the Third World.
Gee, I wonder why?
The best customers I ever had were the 70 and 80 year old WASPs of the 1990s and early 2000s, in a generalized description, they were straight and true, hassle free, once they saw your work once or twice and trust in you was established, then you were their man and they didn’t squabble at your advice or your prices, they wanted quality and good service, trouble free work, haggling and game playing was foreign to them, and as customers they were dependable themselves, it was a rewarding pleasure to work for them.
Leftism instills a sense of resentment and anger in people, and its influence is dominant in our culture.
To put it more specifically, up to half of Americans think the other half consists of slimy, immoral, destructive leftist/communist/socialists, plus a bunch of jihadis.
Of the other Americans, up to half of them think the other half consists of racist, sexist, bigoted hatemongering Christian nationalists, plus a bunch of people with too much money gained by stealing from "the people."
One of these halves is correct.
You’ve also got idiots blaming all boomers, Gen X, and Jews for this mess. Boomers were not in leadership positions no earlier than 1980. Much of our fiscal troubles were because of decisions made in the 1960s/70s and earlier. Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it.
“Be a patriot, not a ‘hateriot’!” Seems to me the dsa types are the most hateful entities I’ve see in a LONG time. They and the ‘regular’ dems are one in the same.
Yes it was before we were told spankings were a bad thing and then look what happened welcome to the hood.
