Authorities have identified the shooter. Police in Twin Falls, Idaho, identified the suspect as Chad Williams, a 24-year-old male.
Williams died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound near the In-N-Out Burger restaurant where the shooting occurred. Investigators believe he acted alone, though a motive for the attack is still under investigation. The shooting left three people dead (including Williams) and seven others injured.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the two civilian victims killed in the attack. Officials stated they are still in the process of notifying the victims’ next of kin before making their identities public.
The three confirmed deaths include:
Chad Williams: The 24-year-old suspect, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
An In-N-Out employee: Confirmed killed by the chain’s owner, Lynsi Snyder, who referred to the victim as “one of our beautiful Associates.”
A customer: The second civilian victim has not been publicly identified or described in detail by authorities at this time.
Seven people sustained injuries but survived the attack.
According to Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks, the status of the seven survivors as of Sunday afternoon is:
Two have been treated and released from the hospital.
Three are in stable condition.
Two remain in critical condition.
All injured victims were transported to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center. Authorities have not yet released the names or identities of the survivors while they continue to notify next of kin for the deceased.
As of Sunday afternoon, August 2, 2026, authorities have not released specific individual updates on the condition of the three patients listed in stable condition.
Police Chief Matthew Hicks confirmed the aggregate status of all seven survivors:

All victims were initially treated at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center. While one survivor, taxi driver Terry Dudley, was specifically identified by his company as having undergone surgery and being in stable condition (though later transported to a Boise hospital for internal bleeding), the identities and specific medical details of the other two stable patients have not been made public as officials continue notifying next of kin.
