Is this the best Democrats can muster from within their membership? It is almost as if they are trying to foist off the worst band of freaques and less-than-serious candidates they could possibly locate.

They know damned well that Susan Collins is an institution in Maine, old money, decades of seniority, and a creepy soap opera about her family (probably true). Nobody is going to unseat her (Cousins Barnabas and Quentin will see to that), so they’re just offering up sacrificial lambs. May the lamest commie win the primary.
