Insane.
They rushed it through with mostly Democrat votes. The plan has 222 votes. It needs 270 to actually start working. Once it does, your vote in Virginia doesn’t matter anymore.
The Founders made the Electoral College so a few big cities don’t boss the whole country. This is a sneaky Democrat power grab to cheat that.
“Every vote counts the same”? Lies.
Virginians are pissed off, and they should be. They got played.

Virginia citizens just got mugged in broad daylight.
DemonicRATS are always playing Calvinball. They change the rules to their advantage as the game goes along. If a Republican wins the popular vote and Virginia votes for a demonicRAT, you can be sure they’ll change the rules and say, nope, our votes go to the demonicRAT because the constitution says so.

So Virginians don’t even need to vote to vote?
This seems unconstitutional to me. The argument would be that the states can do whatever they want with their votes.
The idea of the pectoral college was to give a voice to smaller states. If only a handful of states can impose a president, then all awards and benefits from the government would accrue only to those in the electoral compact. It seems to me this needs to be challenged before it becomes problematic.
Does anyone think that if a Republican won the national vote but not the electoral vote then those states would not withdraw from the compact?
Without the electoral college, America ceases to exist.
The Constitution gives states the power to allocate their electoral votes as they see fit. But the Founders never envisioned that a political party (the Democrat Party) would try such a maneuver.
Suppose Virginia just decided to automatically give all its electoral votes to the D candidate. The Supreme Court would strike that down at once. Let’s hope the Court does the same with this odious National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.
If the Democrats can cheat in a a massive state like California (they obviously can) then this affects the national vote total. Perhaps California simply has the number of electoral votes that it has. Same as always. But now, if 200 million votes show up in California, that means that Virginia’s electoral votes automatically go to the Democrats.
Am I crazy, or does this seem unconstitutional?

After the failed redistricting effort, she’s desperate to control Virginia’s votes. I don’t think this will fly either, I just hope I’m right. If I’m wrong other states will follow and you might as well throw out the constitution. Fodder for a civil war. What a bunch of damn thieves, if it’s not your money, it’s your votes and your soul. No it doesn't. It gives the state the power BY DEFAULT until Congress acts. Congress has full power to override state election procedures:
"The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators."
So how Virginians vote for president doesn’t count. It just depends how everybody else votes. Is Virginia no longer a sovereign state now? They really got screwed by democrats, but it’s what they do, and it’s what they voted for. Americans are treated like sh— when they vote democrat.
