Law Prof Says Karmelo Anthony Is Entitled to a New Trial Because It Was Not a Jury of His Peers
twitchy ^ | June 13, 2026 | Brett T.

What is it with law professors that they come up with the worst takes on X? And then they end up pumping out attorneys like Jasmine Crockett. W. Burlette Carter claims that convicted murderer Karmelo Anthony is entitled to a new trial because he is entitled to a jury of his peers. What would be a jury of his peers? Black teens who provoke and then stab white teens to death?

She goes on and on, adding that Anthony's court-appointed lawyer (because he claimed he was indigent after raising $600,000 on GiveSendGo) "also seemed unable to appreciate and counter the impact of racial overtones in that case. Those overtones are clear even on Twitter commentary as folks seek to paint Metcalf as having no culpability in what happened and Karmelo as a complete monster."

Has she read any of the Twitter commentary? They want to dig up Metcalf and stab him again. Maybe Anthony is not a "complete monster," but he has no impulse control and is guilty of murder.

Yes, the jury was not a bunch of black entitled thugs. Retrial.

I called that the other day. All the prospective homey jurors said they couldn't convict a brother of murdering a whitey, so they were excluded.

I believe it was a deliberate strategy of the defense so they could pull this when they lost.

> he is entitled to a jury of his peers <

Oh, great. There were no Nazi jurists at the Nuremberg trials. So I guess we’ll have to reopen all those cases too.

Legal stuff sure is complicated.

It will be hard to complete a trial with a jury of karmelo’s peers because they will all be stabbing each other in the jury room.

If I ever get charged, only white men of my same ethnicity and age can be on my jury!

I think we’ve seen how a jury of his “peers” feel about him killing a “white boy.”

When the Founders came up with a jury of peers, do you think only English could be tried by English, Dutch by Dutch and so on? (Rhetoricly asking)

Surely, you can find 12 gang members who are out on bail?

Based on this type of video and endless bodycam videos, I am convinced there is a strange type of “Negro Logic” that is so widely at odds with reality that it is akin to the Tulip Craze and other mass frenzies.

You would have to empty the prisons to get this murderer a jury of his peers.

It’s a self-imposed built-in persecution complex. And it is passed down from generation to generation, taught in the home and reinforced by mutual societal self-aggrandizement........

The law professor has a point. Not a single juror had murdered someone. He should have gotten a jury of his peers serving a life sentence in prison.

Put him in a cell with 12 members from ABT and let them judge him.

I posted in another thread that it MIGHT not be terrible for him to have a new trial.

New trial including blacks. A guilty verdict (again). Sentence is 99 years instead of 35.
