JD Vance, now the lone dove in Donald Trump's cabinet after Tulsi Gabbard's resignation, has been left more isolated than ever and is even considering abandoning a run for the presidency in 2028, multiple sources tell the Daily Mail.
Gabbard's resignation letter cited her husband's diagnosis with a rare form of cancer.
But the whispers racing through the West Wing find common ground: Iran.
Vance's most senior non-interventionist ally is gone, and even as he expressed his sorrow for the exit of his 'dear friend' on Friday, insiders told the Daily Mail that his own future is at the front of his mind, while his rivals sharpen their blades. 'Vance is a non-event in the West Wing,' a source close to the President told Daily Mail.
Vance's isolation comes at a moment when Marco Rubio's stock inside the West Wing has never been higher, with the Secretary of State helping to plan an invasion of Cuba, while the Vice President flails in peace negotiations with Iran.
The Vice President's dovish brand of foreign policy has set him on a collision course with Trump, the sources say, the rift deepening as Trump embraces his wartime-leader image.
'The President has made it very clear in recent months that he doesn't abide by this strong, silent Gary Cooper style approach to foreign policy,' a White House insider told the Daily Mail.
'He's loud, he's active. These guys prefer to speak softly and carry a big stick, but Trump speaks loudly and carries a massive cannon,' the source added.

I’m a Carlson/Gabbard 2028 promoter but if JD will jump that’s a better option.
I’ve never trusted JD Vance. Who’s going to follow Trump’s act? It’s a tough act to follow.
It’s waaay to early to make predictions.
Lets wait until a month or two before Iowa and New Hampshire, at least...........
Right now, Trump is making it difficult for any Republican to get elected in 2028. The Republicans have caught a break in that the Democrats are so crazy and inept that they may not be able to capitalize on it.
There’s always a SCOTUS appointment to soften his exit.
How old is this guy, pretending that he has the inside scoop?
I’m no Vance fan but I’m not going to join the pile on from a rag like the Daily Mail.
That said, the fact is Vance and Rubio have their futures riding on the outcome of this war in Iran.
Trump has heavily involved both.
And as it stands now, the chances of that outcome being a heavy burden to carry are 50/50.
I always thought Tulsi had a path to pass both of these former senators, but recent news likely takes her out of 2028.
I’m no Ron fan either, but the outcome of Iran has a big impact on the Republican nominee in 2028.
The media is behind Rubio.
That should concern any conservative.

Why is it than when the dirt flies, no one seems to take the blame for doing it when it is about a republican? Could it be because there was no dirt thrown and the “media” has to make something up to keep the water on? Or is it the normal run of the mill political hit piece designed to sour the taste of someone in the voter’s mouths this week?
Of course Vance is in the mix, just like Rubio, DeSantis, and Ramaswamy...and probably more before the green flag comes down. So this type of article should be a sign of low mentality. But it’s from a liberal rag, so it balances.

Trump and Vance have parted ways and he is out of the Trump love as he sees Trump for who he is. Someone in the Trump admin stated Trump has victory fever.
I trust Vance more than anyone in Trump’s cabinet right now. He’s the closest thing Trump has to a political outsider in his inner circle.

Its ironic that this Iranian mess which will result in the demonic Democrats coming to power was opposed by Vance.No prophet is appreciated or honored in their own time. History will be much kinder to Vance than how he is being treated now.
