I'm not asserting these interactions are real–I'm simply responding to what witnesses have described.
Former Army special operator Jake Barber has described interacting with what he perceived as a feminine presence associated with a large egg-shaped craft. During his interview with Ross Coulthart, he became visibly emotional, describing an overwhelming sensation of love emanating from this entity.
Here's what concerns me. What if these beings (if they exist) can directly manipulate human brain chemistry? What if what Barber experienced as love was actually a deliberately induced neurochemical state–dopamine, norepinephrine, and phenylethylamine artificially triggered to produce the subjective experience of profound romantic and transcendent love? In that neurochemical state, the brain is genuinely altered. Perception narrows, judgment is compromised, and the feeling becomes completely self-validating. It feels like the most real and significant thing you have ever experienced precisely because your neurochemistry is running at maximum intensity.
The theological trap then becomes almost automatic. A sincere believer like Barber might reasonably think, "This is love. God is love. Therefore, this being is a representative of God."
Jesus warned that the deception coming in the last days would be powerful enough to mislead even the elect.
This may be why and how.

I wonder how many people will fall away from the faith. If we could see the unseen, we would crap our pants.
Limerence–the involuntary, obsessive, neurochemically-driven state of romantic infatuation–can make a man or woman leave their spouse and children, sometimes even at the cost of a career.
Now imagine that state being deliberately induced by a non-human intelligence capable of simultaneously simulating perfect reciprocation. The result would be virtually irresistible.
If this is what we are dealing with (and I am only suggesting it might be), the consequences would be deadly for civilization.
