VATICAN CITY — Seated inside a fortress with 40-foot walls and surrounded by Swiss guards, Pope Leo XIV cautioned the rest of the world's population not to fear mass Islamic migration.
After condemning anyone opposed to their country being overrun by Muslims, the pope then ordered the doors of the Vatican sealed as he hopped into his bulletproof car.
"You must lovingly accept anyone into your country, even if they want very much to kill you," explained the Supreme Pontiff. "Do not put up high walls to protect yourself. Do not close yourself in a church with others like yourself. Welcome everyone, regardless of whether they are hell-bent on establishing Sharia law and outlawing Christianity. I say to the Muslim people: you are welcome in Spain, England, everywhere. Now close the gates, guards. Quickly."

Pope Leo IV (reigned 847–855) responded by ordering the construction of a new defensive wall around the Vatican area, known as the Leonine City (encompassing St. Peter’s Basilica, surrounding buildings, and the Borgo district). Construction ran from about 848 to 852.
The wall was roughly 3 km (about 2 miles) long, up to 39 feet (12 meters) high, with towers spaced at intervals for defense.
It formed a U-shape starting and ending at the Tiber River, using local labor, estate workers, and even captured Saracen prisoners.

He, no doubt, knows of the Catholic Crusades to rid the Mediterranean of mooselimbs.
Well this is obviously a jest from the Bee... The truth is even sadder.
We have a Pope who is doing his best summersaults and bending over backwards to avoid being called Islamophobic... Yet pointedly criticizing Trump for waging a war against an anti-Semitic terrorist supporting state bent on the complete destruction of Israel and Judaism. Given the anti-Semitic history of the Catholic church... The optics are at best bad.
Most Catholics likely assumed that the appointment of Pope Leo XIV would result in a more right of center Pope. Afterall... The liberal and leftist faction of the church had their day with the appointment of the Jesuit Pope Francis, a left of center Pope who had more critics, than supporters.
Instead, the church has appointed an even more liberal Pope... And an activist who’s activism has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with politics.
Unfortunately, Pope Leo XIV is young and he will sadly be the face of Catholicism for many years to come. How much damage he will do over his tenure is yet to be seen... Hopefully Catholicism will survive him as it has survived other terrible Popes in the past. Fingers crossed.

History tells me otherwise. The last couple of Popes are really making it hard to answer “Yes” to the age-old question of whether or not the Pope is Catholic.
