Snip—- . Stamper and Pratt announced three pieces of proposed legislation at the press conference that would protect residents from abruptly losing essential resources.
The first was an ordinance requiring grocery stores and pharmacies to provide a 60-day notice to the city before closure so officials can determine if there is something the city can do to help keep the store in business.
According to Pratt, she was given a two-day notice when the Aldi near North Hopkins Street and West Sherman Boulevard closed.
The second is a resolution declaring a food apartheid in the City of Milwaukee – this will mirror a similar declaration by Milwaukee County.
Food apartheid refers to systemic injustices that restrict access to affordable and nutritious food, specifically for low-income residents and racial minorities.

Thieves are happy.
Humans are being stupid again.
Ah! The true economic Fascists show themselves yet again.
Go Galt!
Yeah, the store will be open with nothing on the shelves and two employees who can barely run the register. And no new store owners will risk opening there, knowing they have to set aside two full months of full costs because of the law.
These former cities have long been urban reservations.
“Food apartheid refers to systemic injustices that restrict access to affordable and nutritious food, specifically for low-income residents and racial minorities.”
This may be the dumbest sentence I’ve ever read.
You know why real, full sugar, coke is the most common drink in Mexico and outsells cheaper, and tax-subsidized, water and diet drinks? Because real sugar coke is what the consumers in Mexico want.
You want to know why junk food outsells real food in the ghetto of the USA? For the same reason.
If healthy food could make a profit, someone would sell it.
And this ignores the entire theft and violence issue.
I take it the Commies have done their usual language transmogrification by changing the name of “food deserts” to “food apartheid” to invoke the extinct South African apartheid.
“The first was an ordinance requiring grocery stores and pharmacies to provide a 60-day notice to the city before closure so officials can determine if there is something the city can do to help keep the store in business.”
Like an effective police and judicial system?
Is this part of that whole food desert thing people talk about?
“Lastly, the city officials announced an order that directs the city’s health department and the Department of City Development to work together to determine the best course of action to attract and retain grocery stores.”
Give me a call, my consultant fees are reasonable.
I looked up West Allis (Allis-Chambers) the area is like 70% white ? Population of about 60,000 and median income is 34-36K. But when I searched for crime in the area it was pretty bad. Theft was high so one can assume for an ALDI’s to close it has to be pretty bad. I shop Aldi’s all the time here in Louisiana and I never see any theft . (There is a walmart close by so the criminals probably like to steal top shelf food) LOL
It seems the Commies have determined there is better leverage in semantics than dealing in economic realities.
“These former cities have long been urban reservations.”
The homicide rates in non-urban, Trump-voting counties is 2-4/100,000. (This data includes suicides for some reason.)
The homicide rates in urban, Harris-voting, counties is 8-9 per 100,000.
We need a wall around them.
“Food apartheid refers to systemic injustices that restrict access to affordable…”
These “systemic” injustices, in places democrats have controlled since God was a sprite how do they separate themselves from all responsibility?
Here comes Directive 10-289
In Florida, covered employers must provide at least 60 calendar days’ advance written notice of a plant closing or mass layoff. This requirement falls under the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, which applies to employers with 100 or more employees (excluding part-time workers).
This seems to be a better direction to go.
The average BMI of the shoppers would be a handy piece of information to determine if this has any merit.
There goes free enterprise.
Even when the “nutricious” foods and vegetable were freely availble, the minorities in question never availed them selves of it, choosing, booze sodas and junk foods and and candy.
What about liquor apartheid?
