Police Union Head Blames Walz & Frey for Violence [semi-satire]
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 1 February 2026 | John Semmens

St. Paul Police Federation President Mark Ross asserted that "the tragic deaths of Ms. Good and Mr. Pretti could've been averted if Minnesota Gov. Walz (D) and Minneapolis Mayor Frey (D) hadn't barred police from exercising its crowd control expertise to reduce the clashes between ICE agents seeking to arrest illegal immigrants and protesters trying to prevent these arrests. Minnesota law enforcement has undergone extensive training in mobile field force configurations and crowd management for major events. And because of that, I think we're in the best position to deal with that."

Walz defended his decision to block local police from intervening, saying "we didn't want to surrender to Trump's cruel intent to arrest the immigrants to whom we granted sanctuary. These folks came to our state and city because we explicitly offered to keep them from being deported. The vast majority of them are enjoying welfare benefits that non-sanctuary states and cities would deny them. A few of them have become millionaires by setting up federally-funded daycare businesses. The presence of ICE threatens to undermine these positive developments."

Frey complained that "allowing the police to intervene would've been seen as aiding and abetting ICE's invasion of our city to enforce laws we don't agree with. I campaigned on a promise to defy federal laws that do not align with our progressive agenda. The demand that we comply with existing immigration laws that require immigrants to obtain permission before entering the United States is intolerable. Just as the American patriots of 1776 went to war over England's intolerable acts our generation of Minnesotans is going to war with ICE."

Trump's Border Czar Tom Homan says he has "been sent to Minneapolis to implement the agreement between President Trump and Gov. Walz and Mayor Frey to cooperate with ICE to focus on arresting foreign criminals. The President is determined to deport the worst of the worst illegal aliens. Many of these dangerous individuals were previously arrested by local police and could've been handed over to ICE. Refusal to hand them over is what led to the surge of ICE officers that the local government has been encouraging citizens to obstruct. If we get local government cooperation we can draw down the ICE presence to the smaller number required to deport these vicious criminals."

Both Walz and Frey denied agreeing to anything. "Trump is as cruel a despot as there ever was," Walz claimed. "I only said I agreed to get him off the phone." "Same goes for me," Frey added. "Our revolt will continue until every undocumented immigrant in our city is granted amnesty."

Meanwhile, Maple Grove police arrested anti-ICE agitators after their "peaceful" protest added rock throwing and property damage to their shouting, swearing, and spitting at ICE officers. A police spokesperson said, "the Maple Grove Police Department respects and upholds the First Amendment rights of individuals to peacefully assemble and express their views. Our priority remains the safety and security of all residents, visitors, and property within our community."

In related news, West Virginia, Gov. Patrick Morrisey (R) has agreed "to partner with ICE to crack down on illegal immigration, deport violent criminals, and safeguard West Virginia."

How much of this is real.

I do think Homan set the terms...you will no longer pull the sanctuary crap...and you will arrest rioters. Let rioters run loose...and you get deaths like Coo and Pretti. In other words....those deaths are on you!!

Most police officer want to protect their communities.

How much of this info is real? Is it truly satire or actual news? The tag line confuses me.

It’s a satirical twist of real news.

Sometimes reality seems more like satire than actual satire.

I’ve seen real headlines that should have been from Babylon Bee, but they’re not.

I have suggested this approach:
Clean up all the ICE friendly places from all illegals first.
Then these “sanctuaries” will get swamped by illegals and will have to do something!
