Unfazed by the scandal in Minnesota, Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) is now proposing an even grander program for her state, saying "the biggest problem with what went on in Minnesota is that it was too narrowly focused on needy families. Starting with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's plan for universal government-provided daycare for all children--poor and rich alike--we will make this benefit an entitlement for all. Ideally, the government should pay for everyone's needs while each individual contributes taxes according to their abilities."
The initial estimate of the cost to fund Mamdani's vision is said to be $6 billion. Nassau County Executive and the leading Republican candidate to challenge Hochul for the governorship in the November election Bruce Blakeman, said "the $6 billion estimate ignores the inevitable cost of fraud that eats away at these giveaway programs. Hochul may be willing to raise taxes to fund this disaster, but I'm not. Mamdani should reprioritize the City's budget by cutting billions spent on illegal aliens to pay for his universal childcare dream."
State Assemblyman Robert Carroll (D-Brooklyn) disagreed with Blakeman. "As a parent of two small children, childcare is one of the largest expenses my family faces. Parents shouldn't have to bear this burden by themselves. Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton once said 'it takes a village to raise a child.' Well, the 'village' of New York City and the taxpayers of the state have a responsibility to make this essential service more affordable for working families."
Because the City owns the children.
Gosh, imagine Government-provided daycare for all…uh huh, imagine all the waste and fraud.

Pure communist thought right there.
Okay you Yawkers! Open up those wallets. More, more! The Muzzie Anchor babies want you to pay for their daycare.
“”Parents shouldn’t have to bear this burden by themselves””
That was for laughs, I hope!
Then don’t have kids.
“”Then don’t have kids.””
Apparently that never occurred to most of them!!!
Any parent who would send their kid to free childcare is a monster
