Is Anything Holding MAGA Together?
NY Times ^ | Dec 11, 2025 | Ross Douthat

Posted on 12/12/2025 5:43:28 AM PST by CondoleezzaProtege

My guest today is Andrew Kolvet, who was Kirk’s close confidant. Since the assassination, he’s taken on many of Kirk’s responsibilities, including hosting “The Charlie Kirk Show.”

Andrew Kolvet:

…“Now, Charlie’s mission was to say: Hey, before us are two roads. You can either go grievance politics, socialism, free stuff populism, Mangione-ism, Mamdani-ism, or you can go MAGA.“

…“I think this is the through line for Israel — is you do not have to support Israel to belong to the team, at least in a traditional historical sense…I’m an American. I’m born in this country. My kids are going to be raised in this country. I’m going to die here. They’re probably going to die here. I care about America. I mean, God bless Israel; I want them to succeed, too. I just want to make sure we’re taking care of home base first.”

…“Charlie was really against war…He hated war. He took a lot of flak for fighting against this march toward endless blank-check funding of the Ukraine war. He was vehemently against it. He didn’t want America to be involved in killing abroad. He wanted us to focus domestically, and we saw it as a drag on the entire movement, and we wanted it to stop.”

…”I think housing is the crux. I think people owning their own homes, feeling like they have a stake in this economy, in this country. I mean, if you want to have a nation of renters, then those people are going to burn down the country real fast when things go south. And so a bulwark against radicalization and revolution is letting people own the roof over their head. It’s a place to build a family, to get married.”

I walked around my neighborhood after the hurricane. I spoke with a couple whose young trees were blown over. The county required them to plant 10 trees of county listed species that were at least 2 inches in diameter 12 inches above the the ground. Those 10 trees cost the couple $3,750.

“MAGA is falling apart” is the new “MAGA regrets voting for Trump” for the left and the criminal liberal media...

“ And so a bulwark against radicalization and revolution is letting people own the roof over their head. It’s a place to build a family, to get married.”

This is the irony behind the socialist movement. These ‘kids’ are pissed that the American dream of owning a home is sliding further and further away. They are pissed/envious at the boomers for taking their dream away.

The socialism/communism they are chasing does away with private property rights and makes home ownership impossible as opposed to difficult.

I’m glad my kids realized their dreams and are happy and well adjusted. They gripe about these ‘kids’ more than I do.

Let’s do something.

Will doing something cause prices to drop 50% quickly?

That would cause millions to walk away from their mortgages.

So instead, prices would have to drop slowly or rise slowly and far less than inflation.

The quickest, easiest and least disruptive way to get affordable housing is to move to where the house price/income ratio is favorable.

I subscribed to the New York Times after college.

One could buy a place in Manhattan for $40K but the monthly maintenance was as much as suburban apartments in the DC area.

“MAGA is falling apart.”

BS. The left is drowning in its own excrement. They must still fight their color revolution until the last. Sort of like a con man never giving up the con, or every convict claiming to be innocent.

“King Salman International Airport (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia)....covers roughly 57 square kilometers....Around 12 square kilometers have already been reserved for residential construction”

“Al Maktoum International Airport (Dubai World Central), Dubai, UAE....The large-scale Dubai South development program envisions an integrated city with a population of more than one million people that will include housing, business clusters, logistics zones, and technology parks.”

“average annual housing price growth in Dubai South is expected to reach 15 to 20 percent in the coming years.”

“New Manila International Airport (Bulacan) is being built as a key element of the Philippine government’s long-term strategy to relieve the capital region and create a new transport and economic center north of Manila.”

“They are pissed/envious at the boomers for taking their dream away.”

I wonder if there really exist people so stupid as to believe that statement. No wonder the country is going down the tubes. That statement is kind of like the Russian hoax. No one ever bothered to describe just what the steps were the Russians took to hand the election over to Trump. The accusation was enough to prove itself.

Might I ask just how it is that the boomers have prevented the succeeding generations from owning a home?

Do these idiots know that home mortgages doubled, literally, under the Biden administration.

How ironic. We have all been warned for decades about the path we are on, started by politicians and leaders and academics who preceded the boomer by a lot, and now, we are told to believe that it is just one generation that is responsible for it all.

Seems like most of the voting block are as dumb as a box of rocks. They get their news from social media.

Our side needs to explain, in simple 2nd grade terms, 20m illegals in this country has created the housing shortage. It’s all Biden’s admin fault.

“Deport 20M illegals and watch rent/housing prices fall.”

Correct answer.

The administration is working the problem—and we will see benefits long term...

But if they want a positive effect in the mid terms there will need to be an exponential increase in deportations (forced and voluntary) in the next few months.

Think of this like a corporation does.

If someone does not make the effort to buy their product or service the corporation does not complain that the public is lazy and/or uninformed.

Instead the corporation takes on the responsibility for marketing the product correctly.

Blaming the non-voters is not just a losing strategy—it is the worst of all possible options.

Yes, the commitment to Make America Great Again!

It's that simple. Only the intentionally blind and the terminally stupid don't see it--or comprehend it.
