So Game Wardens in Texas have arrested this guy, 39 year old Ethan McNeely from Oregon.
He was crouched in the woods attempting to hunt squirrels with nothing but his hands and teeth near Lake Tawakoni Dam
Ethan insists that “I’m a primal predator, not a sportsman” and argued with the officers that “God-given claws and fangs” exempt him requiring a hunting license.
Ethan goes on saying “If I catch it with my molars, that’s between me and Mother Nature” while reportedly spitting out a mouth full of tree bark.
Game wardens have stated that while his hunting techniques are unique, there exists no game law that makes exceptions for “wannabe cavemen”.
Ethan was booked on charges of hunting without a license and disorderly conduct after he reportedly growled at the officers. He maintains that he’s being persecuted saying “they can cage me but they’ll never cage my inner wolf.”
This is actually an interesting argument if, and only if he eats them raw. It's not as if the State is likely to run short of squirrels because of human predation. If I were the judge, I'd let him off, if only for public entertainment value. Just think of the Internet following he could generate!
He would also need to demonstrate a bite force of at least five hundred pounds per square inch.
Meth eyes.
You need a license to hunt squirrels??? In Texas????
He was acting like a nut to catch a squirrel!
Makes sense.
Hell of a way of avoiding paying for a hunting license.
I don’t wanna know what he goes “hunting” with on Saturday night...
If I were the judge, I’d let him off..... Until he kills someone and starts eating them... wouldn’t be the first time.
Explains everything.
#1) He is truly a Florida Man.
#2) Iguanas are far more tasty, have no parasites, and are very plentiful.
If the law requires a license, you have to have one to hunt regardless of the weapon or method.
Do you think THIS GUY is NUTS?
Is he on a watch list somewhere? He should be, after you spray him down with a fire hose. Then give him a NexGard treatment.
They require a hunting license for squirrels?..............
Small game. Pretty sure that’s the case in most/all states.
You need a hunting license to hunt, just like you need a fishing license to fish....
Squirrels are game???
Hmmm. There are some McNeelys, hereabouts.
Texas must require a permit to catch rats, too, then.
Squirrels should not be viewed separate from other vermin.
Squirrels and rats are vermin.
You believe both should require a license?
