Something important that’s being missed with the Jimmy Kimmel saga…

Something important that’s being missed with the Jimmy Kimmel saga…

By spreading the vile lie that Charlie was assassinated by MAGA, the implicit message from Kimmel was clear: If you kill a conservative, we will cover for you. We will whitewash the murder because we don’t think conservatives deserve to live. Kill more. Assassinate more. We have your back.

This is evil.

Executives at ABC rightly received a deluge of complaints from affiliates. They asked Kimmel to apologize for lying and he refused, instead vowing to double down. Only then did he get canned.

Networks like ABC, NBC, and CBS enjoy massive taxpayer supported privileges and advantages because they are supposed to contribute to the “public good.” Those privileges come with a responsibility to not knowingly spread harmful lies like the one Kimmel was spreading.

Jimmy Kimmel is not a victim. He’s a liar.

Jimmy Kimmel is not a martyr. Charlie is.

Let’s keep that straight

I think those two weren’t talking about Kimmel being fired, but about the possibility of the FCC revoking ABC’s license.

What I think they miss is the fact that Kimmel wasn’t just spouting an opinion that was being censored; he was actually spouting slander. It is troublesome that 80% of the public believes that Tyler was a conservative, even though there have been numerous press conferences or other official communications that make it clear that is not the case.

If violating the terms for their license (serving the public good) is censorship, then why does the FCC require licenses? Are Tucker and Cruz saying that requiring licenses in order to broadcast is censorship, since companies should be allowed to have a license even if they destroy the public good rather than serve it as the license requires?

It’s a discussion worth having, but I think people are talking past each other.

In Britain NOBODY is allowed to say what the masters don’t want. In the US that was also the case until Elon Musk bought X. Jimmy Kimmel can still say whatever he wants, just not on a station that requires an FCC license. The FCC license is supposed to mean SOMETHING, isn’t it?

Political opinions or accusations dont belong in a “comedy show” If he comes back, they should name his show for for what it is.

The license revoking or yanking was imminent.

Yes I think people are talking past each other. Big names like major senators who are very experienced lawyers and respected journalists like Tucker. I think they can have these discussions. But can’t they wait till Charlie is buried and people get closer to not being in emotional shock, looking to defend, blame, misinform?

Rhymes siding with leftists at a crucial time. When peoples’ impressions are being formed esp by leftist media stars like Kimmel.

Trust the FCC for now. Can’t they do that?

Is there a different FCC license (with different terms) for news companies than for opinion companies/entertainment? If ABC has the FCC license and does both, how does that work? Does ABC as a whole need to serve the public interest, or just certain portions of their programming?

Honest questions, because I don’t know the answers. I know that “news” folks always use the term “allegedly”, but then a lot of sources that people look at as “news” is just a bunch of shameless lies, either by what they say or by what they leave out. For instance, is “Morning Joe” news, or opinion? “The View”? It’s all lies all the time on these platforms. Does their company have an FCC license?

If Kimmel was the ABC News anchor and talked about MAGA killing Kirk, then there’d be something. But Kimmel was a mouthpiece on a drippy little show.

The only distinction I would put forth is that the late-night shows change their tone ever since Bill Clinton played the saxophone on the Arsenio Hall Show to change his image after the Geniffer Flowers affair broke in early 1992. Ever since then, Democrats have been using late-night appearances to go around network anchor and pundit questioning when they needed a softer platform for their narratives.

In 2025 alone, these prominent Democrats appeared on The Jimmy Kimmel Show (according to a Perplexity AI Pro search):

In overall appearances during the run of the show, the count is:

  1. Barack Obama 4
  2. Kamala Harris 3
  3. Bernie Sanders 3
  4. Joe Biden 3
  5. Nancy Pelosi 2
  6. Elizabeth Warren 2
  7. Hillary Clinton 2
  8. Pete Buttigieg 2
  9. Donald Trump 2
  10. Cory Booker 2
  11. Stacey Abrams 2
  12. Jasmine Crockett 2
  13. Tammy Duckworth 2
  14. Hunter Biden 1
  15. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez 1
  16. Gavin Newsom 1
  17. Adam Schiff 1
  18. Tim Walz 1
  19. Raphael Warnock 1
  20. Eric Swalwell 1
  21. Douglas Emhoff 1
  22. Adam Kinzinger 1
  23. JB Pritzker 1
  24. Hakeem Jeffries 1

The fact that so many prominent or "in the news" Democrats have appeared on the Kimmel show gives Jimmy Kimmel an imprimatur of authority when he speaks simply by his repeated associations with these people. Kimmel's audience is likely to accept what he says as true because leading Democrat politicians frequently appear on his show, lending him credibility that can harm the network's image when Kimmel abuses the privilege.

Donald Trump appeared twice on Kimmel? When were those dates? Jimmie Kimmel Live goes back to 2003 so I’m guessing before 2015.

I punched the “people getting fired for shooting their mouths off about Charlie Kirk” button on my Democrat next-door neighbor and immediately got some BS about the FCC.

They’re effing programmed zombies.

It’s telling that the Gaslight Media isn’t mentioning ANYTHING about Jimmy the Hypocrite and Roseanne Barr.

Juggies Kimmel is a stinking pile of dog feces.

Kimmel did the exact same thing that Jussie Smollett did: blame Charlie's murder on MAGA. The only thing missing was the noose. Blood libel.

Sane Americans know the left doesn’t know truth so Kimmel is irrelevant because likeKJP we know he is a puppet and not funny. I like knowing who the biggest lying tools of the left are.

Brendan Carr saved Jimmy Kimmel's career and made him a hero. He took away all the momentum after Charlie Kirk.

Trump should fire him. From a canon.

I hope Jimmy Kimmel is getting a great present for Brendan Carr.
