I thought this was from the Babylon Bee. But it’s real!

Unbelievable. I hope the judge is his roommate.

He wasn’t released. He was sent to a loony bin for 60 days to see if he is competent to stand trial. Once the shrinks say he is sufficiently competent to assist his attorneys in the defense of his trial, he goes back to jail.

If the judge doesn’t do that and the trial goes forward, a conviction would likely be reversed.

Going from a jail to a psych hospital for evaluation isn’t exactly a release.

One of my first thoughts was that taking out Charlie Kirk was to get Iryna out of the news as that killing was literally DESTROYING the Democrats. But it seems that the Democrats don’t even care at this point.

They are trying to make sure he doesn’t even go to trial and is set free.

Just like the criminal in Queens with a long record who broke into the elderly couple's house and brutally killed them (set one on fire, I think) for not letting him in to charge his cell phone. Unbelievable.

I hope you’re right. The headline made it sound like his release was imminent.
I don’t ever recall a time with so many devious, diabolical, straight up crazy Judges.
They appear in all races and both genders.

So, if he can’t be tried, then where does he go?

The Democrats poured gasoline on the fire. Trump's Presidency is keeping them from destroying the country via the senile kiddie-sniffer Biden. They're going with plan B. Meanwhile, in Britain:

I know people want him sent down, but I agree with Baroness Amos, Master of Univ, that George Abaraonye is allowed to hold abhorrent views and to express them. That is free speech. But he is not then free to be President of the Oxford Union, believing, as he does, that people… pic.twitter.com/xOgFLXzSAR— Adrian Hilton (@Adrian_Hilton) September 13, 2025

“Unfit to stand trial” or “Not guilty by reason of insanity.”

Tell me this.

Why didn’t he attack and kill anyone else in that part of the train car, but only Iryna?

And why did he mutter to himself “Got the White Girl” after he killed her?

No, it’s not release at all, far from it... You see how we get such horrid misinformation here? People post this crap just to get a rise out of people and it’s sick.

He’s not getting released! And he ain’t goin’ nowhere. Prison is better than a mental hospital any day. Societies REALY scary people are in the asylums.

>>So, if he can’t be tried, then where does he go?

AI Overview

If a person is determined to be unable to participate in their defense for a murder charge in North Carolina, their criminal proceedings are halted. The court will order an evaluation to determine their “capacity to proceed” (or competency). If they are found to lack this capacity due to mental illness or defect, the court may order them to receive treatment to restore their ability to understand the charges and assist in their defense. If treatment is successful, the criminal proceedings may resume. If the defendant is found to lack capacity and is also determined to be dangerous, the court may initiate involuntary civil commitment proceedings to a state mental health facility.

What Happens When Capacity is Lacking

Evaluation: The court must conduct a hearing to determine if the defendant has the capacity to proceed with their trial. This often involves a court-ordered evaluation by a mental health professional.

Purpose of Evaluation: The evaluation determines if the defendant’s mental condition prevents them from understanding the charges against them or assisting their own attorney.

Potential Outcomes:

Treatment: If the defendant is found to lack capacity, but there is a reasonable chance their condition can be restored, they may be ordered to receive treatment to improve their mental state.

Restoration of Capacity: If treatment is successful, the defendant may regain their capacity, and the criminal proceedings can resume.

Civil Commitment: If the defendant is found to lack capacity and is also dangerous to themselves or others, the court may institute involuntary civil commitment proceedings to a state mental health facility under Chapter 122C of the General Statutes.

Other Court Orders: Other dispositions can be imposed, such as orders to ensure the defendant’s return for trial if their capacity is restored or to conduct periodic supplemental hearings on their capacity.
