In a jaw-dropping move late Monday, House Republicans once again slammed the door shut on transparency, voting 7‑5 in the Rules Committee to block Rep. Ro Khanna’s amendment that would have forced Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice to publish all Epstein‑related files publicly.
..... Snip.....
Here are the names of the U.S. Representatives who voted “No” to releasing the Epstein files:
Virginia Foxx (R-NC) Nick Langworthy (R-NY) Austin Scott (R-GA) Morgan Griffith (R-VA) Brian Jack (R-GA) Michelle Fischbach (R-MN) Erin Houchin (R-IN)

I’d like to know the rest of the story
Like what poison pill was in this proposal that generated “ no” votes
What do you think this means? /s
I can take a guess. Perhaps Epstein was a government assets from the start. Three letter acronym working on US soil, and help from a woman who was probably linked to Mossad. So No, Epstein wasn’t Israeli but his partner was. I am not even sure Epstein is dead, I have my doubts, but it’s probably easier to ‘get rid’ of that kind of asset.
Dealing with Epstein information ‘release’, if the aforementioned is accurate, is problematic from a National Security standpoint. They are ‘parsing’ words like ‘client list’ and Epstein wasn’t Mossad, and we should ‘move on from the creep’, while behind the scenes it ‘National Security’. The people in ‘power’ are always the people blocking it, doesn’t matter if Democrats or Republicans, it always gets blocked. They don’t want to expose the ‘operation’ or are they prepared to deal with the blowback from exposure of other domestic operations.
I think it means it’s very secret, potentially explosive, and other operations that can’t be exposed for national security reasons, that are related to Epstein. Further, there may be other investigations that could be compromised by releasing early.
Honestly, I don’t expect to see much more ‘release’ about Epstein. Those involved are going to be protected or dealt with outside of the news. That’s just a bunch of guesses...
Excellent post.
Somebody gets it.
(If you read recent Atlantic articles on the topic they will tell you they think this is all a crazy right wing conspiracy theory and they are thrilled that the President, Bondi and Kash ignored the kooks and buried the case.)
I think that means Kash can keep going to the fancy DC dinners and parties with the lefties...
IT WAS A POISON PILL AMENDMENT TO A BY A RADICAL LEFTIST TO A CRYPTOCURRENCY BILL. Looks like it served its purpose to make everyone think the Republicans must be hiding something. Now excuse me while I go beat my head on the wall.
Our side is controlled by Israel, so…
Apparently, even Benjamin Netanyahu believes that Epstein was an Israeli spy (although working for Ehud Barak)
Another fake claim from Gay Jimbo. There are no "files" to release. Congress does not have any files, nor does it have the power to compel the Executive branch or DOJ to release any files, especially to the "public," which might include unredacted or classified documents.
I thought this was a Democrat problem.
Some geniuses around here said this is a nothingburger and will go away because the Democrats would not dare pursue it.
They got it totally wrong.
I am confident President Trump will fix this.
He should because it is a very serious matter—and the Democrats will hang us by our fingernails if he does not.
(This was just a warning shot.)
Bibi means partner in crime, insinuating that Barak himself is a pedophile who visited Epstein Island. Barak has never worked for or led the Mossad. He was a IDF solider and later a politician and PM.
“”So 5 republicans voted to keep allowing Bondi, Patel and Bongino to protect pedophiles. They should all be primaried on that one issue.””
They are really Democrat assistant nobodies and apparently didn’t get the GOP memo.
The underlying legislation is HR3633. Purpose stated at the start of the Bill:
“To provide for a system of regulation of the offer and sale of digital commodities by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and for other purposes.”
Your comments were dead on. Demands for release of Epstein files are urelated and inappropriate for this bill. For the benefit of those who don’t recall how the Dems made a huge scandal out of Iran-Contra: Citing human rights abuses, some Dems first tried passing a stand-alone bill ban on using US funds to support the Contras. This failed to pass despite Democrat majorities. Then the Dems tacked the one=page “Boland Amendment” onto a massive bill that did pass. This gave the Dems the stick they wanted to beat the Reagan administration, and the cover to pass it off as the will of Congress (which wikipedia still does).
The Dems know 100% release of Epstein materials is impossible due to court orders, privacy laws, etc., and that the storm following release would likely disrupt Trump’s reforms and foreign policy. They are looking for an avenue to attack and derail the Trump/MAGA agenda.
Correct—this is all about optics, not the facts on the ground.
The Republicans got played.
(There are no “files” to release.)
Not true! Judicial Watch under Tom Fitton has a lawsuit against FOIA to release them.

🚨BREAKING: Judicial Watch reports that the DOJ and FBI are still in the process of locating and reviewing Jeffrey Epstein-related records as part of their ongoing lawsuit:
“They are sending out contradictory messages: telling the American people that no Epstein material will be released, while telling the federal court.. that the Epstein FOIA review is proceeding.” - Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch

The administration is going to have to play the “national security” card to deal with that FOIA.
That should have been their opening gambit from day one.
(To repeat myself from other comments. The facts on the ground are not the key here. The optics are. Contradicting yourself makes you look bad no matter what the facts are.)
FOIA requests are the correct venue. But Congress itself cannot compel DOJ document releases. That is my point.
This is ALL show...
Anyone who thinks these files are going to destroy only one side is idiotic.
Pedophilia and child sexual abuse is not something that is confined by a political ideology.
This is SHOW... the Democrats had 4 years to release this stuff, and DID NOTHING.. in fact, I don’t Epstein’s name ever crossed the walking potato’s lips one time during his administration.
This whole thing is getting more and more odd. by the day... I wonder if this is a huge rope a dope.
Do you think that if they had evidence, indisputable evidence that Trump was a pedophile that they wouldn’t have leaked that years ago?
There is no doubt if Epstein was providing children to powerful people, its going to destroy people all over the political, wealth and power spectrum.
We all know it happened, the victims have stated so publicly... so dems can try to score political points, but I they know damned well it won’t be released, if it truly does exist.
I really, really, really am beginning to wonder about this.. this whole thing just doesn’t vibe right. I don’t agree, but can understand a decision not to release, because of the absolute destruction it would create across everything... Disappointing, but can understand giving up blackmail leverage isn’t something folks who want control are going to do. etc etc... However.. and this is a big however...
NO ONE was talking about Epstein, until they did this “There is nothing to see/Ignore the man behind the iron curtain” thing a few days back.. no one was pushing for it, no one was asking for it.. nothing.. so WHY did they do it?
Democrats sure as hell didn’t care about Epstein other than the fact they could try to smear trump because of his previous associations with him.. but they really had no care about finding out the truth or releasing it of was any sort of priority for them.
So, I am wondering if this is another rope a dope... Trump’s tax forms all over again? Put the democrats in a position where they are going to overplay their hand, and then look the fool when its all said and done?
Also the release of the video, with clearly a minute missing while trying to claim evidence shows nothing seems suspect... Because if the goal was to cover up, you wouldn’t release a video that doesn’t only have a minute missing, but that also CLEARLY has the video “shifted” after that minute, making the minute look even easily identifiable. I mean WHY did the image shift, if you remove a minute of video from a video feed the frame doesn’t shift like it does in the video released.
I am personally disappointed the clear cover up will continue, but this also smells a bit off to me, beyond just continue the cover up.
I don’t know, we shall see.. but this all is just a bit odd in how its being handled, even if you accept the goal is to continue the cover up...
The only way to beat the deep state is for states to secede from it.
You are probably correct that Congress cannot legally force DOJ to produce documents.
What Congress can do is hold endless press conferences and interviews making all kinds of unsubstantiated claims and turn everything into a wild circus.
Then if they want they can hold endless investigations to make everything into a bigger circus.
If they got lucky some administration official will get caught lying etc etc etc....
Then a President might end up hiring a Special Prosecutor to investigate the perjury cases.
Sometimes what is legally valid is highly risky and dangerous as a practical strategy.
