Guess how many people over the age of 120 just got removed from Social Security?

Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency announced Sunday that, well, there were a lot of people over the age of 120 still on the Social Security rolls.

A LOT.

That's so many geezers. According to Breitbart, DOGE has been providing regular updates on the growing number of seemingly fraudulent Social Security recipients.

And in the most recent update, delivered last week, DOGE revealed that a total of 12.3 million individuals listed as 120+ years old were now officially marked as deceased in the system.

Back in March, Musk controversially claimed that an alleged 2.1 million illegal immigrants had also enrolled to receive Social Security benefits.

Regarding how that is possible, a coworker of Musk's looking at social security, Anthony Gracias, CEO of Valor Equity Partners, said that the previous administration had a policy that allowed migrants to enter the country and then register for Social Security, Breitbart News reported.

Millions of illegals were registered for Social Security? That's crazy.

What's next, you're going to tell me they were registered to VOTE too?

Were they receiving benefits? If so, how much?

If any of the checks were cashed then presumably there are people going to be charged with fraud?

Assuming the average social security payment per month of $1976 as of 2025 then multiplying by the 12.3 Million gets you $24.3B/month or over $291.6 Billion/year.

This isn’t chump change and it’s everywhere - no wonder we are up to our eyeballs in debt - when do we start hanging these crooks

Are they collecting or registered? Not that it makes a huge difference in terms of display of our government (intentional) ineptitude in managing databases.

Were the illegals casing in, using these bogus outdated numbers?

What's next, you're going to tell me they were registered to VOTE too?

I remember a story last year about a contractor processing recent illegal aliens. Her job was to register them to vote.

~~~
That is the key question.
If they weren’t getting benefits, then it was just a database problem. They were never properly changed to deceased when they should have been.
But if they were receiving benefits, then the primary followup question would be, who was actually cashing or depositing those payments?
There is a report that Jasmine Crockett’s family has been cashing her dead grandmother’s social security checks for 22 years! This was exposed by DOGE. No wonder Crockett has been shooting her mouth off daily. She actually didn’t think it was wrong!
“Were they receiving benefits? If so, how much?”
They weren’t receiving anything because they were mostly all dead. Their scheming relatives, however, have been milking taxpayers out of billions.
If that’s true, she ought to be the poster child for prosecution to the full extent of the law.
Maybe they were getting nothing but just hadn’t been removed from the database.
The funeral homes notify SS when someone dies.
Based on my recollection there were not many actually receiving Social Security payments.
However, the issue was that they may have been using the SS# to apply for OTHER government services like Medicare, Medicade, State services like unemployment, etc. Which means that most likely in blue states/blue cities they probably could vote if they really wanted to.
The premises of the article are incorrect. This was the file of all the SS numbers issued, which was used to insure each SS number was unique. The deceased field was not used for anything, so nobody bothered to update hit.
The payments were made based on different files of active recipients. Yes, there is some fraud, but updating this file makes absolutely no difference.
If you want to know how the process actually works, you have to read the code. But the DOGE boys would have to say COBOL est, ignotus mihi!
