News broke this week that the Alice Cooper Band was getting back together to make new music for the first time in more than 50 years, and it didn’t take long for fans to get a taste of the new tunes.
The band released its first single, “Black Mamba,” since 1973’s album, “Muscle of Love.”
You can see the song below.
“It was very much like this was our next album after ‘Muscle of Love,’” Alice Cooper told Billboard of the new music. “Just like, ‘OK, this is the next album.’ Isn’t that funny after 50 years? All of a sudden it just falls into place.”

The song sounds right out of the 70's. Talk about old school vibes!

50 years? That’s a generation landslide.

50 years!! They finally freed Alice from a strait jacket? Good. The grief they put that man through.

Alice is the only performer on whom I would expend the time or money to see. Always a memorable performance! Regrettably, my wife wanted to see James Taylor last year. That show? Like sitting in a dentist’s chair.

I never was fond of James Taylor. I’d still like to see Alice. He’s getting up there in age.

Unfortunately, everything Alice has written since he sobered up has been crap.
When he was creating the tour to promote the release of Billion Dollar Babies, Alice decided he wanted to have his head cut off in the show. And he decided to hire a really good stunt gaffer so he could do it more than once. The man he hired was “The Amazing Randi.”
And to make sure no on bungled the job on stage, he also hired Randi as a roadie. I saw the show live and it was more than 40 years before I learned the executioner in that show was The Amazing Randi (video here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxTE5c-CWz8).
