And, stop slaughtering all the chickens.

That’s right. Too many chickens have been needlessly choked.

I see what you did there.

It's a Democrat thing. :)

Back when we sprayed mosquito problem spots with DDT, and there were barn swallows and chimney swifts galore in areas we didn’t spray, we didn’t have much of an avian flu problem...

But then over the years we got rid of open style wooden barns, and capped all the chimneys, and cut down all the hollow dead trees the chimney Swift’s nested in to make vast numbers of wood and resin river tables... tore down the Osage orange hedges and fence rows to grow vast monoculture fields to make ethanol, banned DDT, and cut way back on skeeter spraying...

Now the country teams with mosquitos and has even, with globalism, introduced several foreign invasive species of mosquitos with more diseases.

Yeah, I'm wondering if maybe a few more chickens are being killed beyond necessary, and not replaced. This in view of the possibility that the supply/demand/perice/labor cost has been so shifted that the majority of chickeneers are probably drunken on the profits made with less product and labor involved.

I do have a viewpoint from helping out on a chicken farm, years ago. It's a hot, exhausting occupation with (like other farm operatins) razor-thin profit margins. I suppose one can get tired of it. One view is from the standpoint of buying eggs at $1.47 per dz; and the other less desirable viewpoint of your product being sold at that price.

Absolutely....

Cooking the chickens and/or eggs to 160-165 degrees kills the virus.

Cook them in the bacon grease..might help get that temp up there quicker.

Never poked an egg with my meat thermometer...but I will.

And using the eggs in baking....the virus is doa.

>> In terms of flu resistance, regenerative Farmer Joel Salatin has an even better solution: breed avian-flu resistant birds, which would ultimately eliminate the need for vaccines.

That’s a dumb idea, Joel. Using GOD-created immunity??!? How can we advance the transhumanist ideal of ubiquitous genetic-affect vaccines with THAT sort of antiquated thinking?

(Actually, I really LIKE the way Farmer Joel Salatin thinks! Good job, Farmer Joel!)

Stop the wanton slaughter of chickens over man-made *pandemics*.

Let natural selection do its work and breed the survivors to pass on the genes for bird flu resistant chickens.

Biodiversity is a big one. One main reason commercial hens are so susceptible to pandemics is because they are so genetically similar. Regularly mixing up the genes from different stock provides variation in disease resistance.

“The USDA plans to provide up to $100 million in research and development of vaccines and therapeutics.”

The world just went through a manufactured covid crisis complete with toxic vaccines. I don’t have a good feeling about this.

Just stop deliberately manufacturing again virus false positives for an excuse to kill millions of chickens and everything will be fine.
