Senator Fetterman Praises Trump on ‘The View’ After 1 Hour Meeting with Him – ‘He Was Kind’

The atmosphere on The View turned tense on Monday morning as Democratic Senator John Fetterman made an appearance that left the show’s liberal hosts visibly uncomfortable—with Ana Navarro gripping her coffee mug just a little tighter than usual.

Indeed, the Pennsylvania lawmaker’s candid remarks about his recent Mar-a-Lago visit sparked immediate pushback from the panel.

But it wasn’t Fetterman’s presence alone that caused the stir. Instead, it was what he revealed about his private meeting with President Donald Trump that sent shockwaves through the studio (and viewers reaching for their popcorn).

“I think overall it was a positive experience,” Fetterman told the stunned hosts. He then made a revelation that left them scrambling for a response. “He was kind, he was cordial. It wasn’t any kind of theater, it wasn’t trying to get your picture taken to put something out on social media. It was really just a conversation.”

The View’s Surprise Guest

The show’s hosts, particularly Navarro, appeared unprepared for Fetterman’s frank assessment. Navarro, her voice notably tenser than usual, attempted to challenge the senator’s meeting with Trump, referring to Mar-a-Lago as Trump’s “palace.” She apparently missed the irony of criticizing political theatrics while engaging in them herself.

However, Fetterman stood his ground. He explained that he and his wife spoke with Trump for over an hour, discussing everything from protecting “Dreamers” to food stamp benefits. The conversation, according to Fetterman, was substantive and focused on finding common ground.

The meeting’s positive outcome wasn’t just Fetterman’s assessment. Trump himself praised the interaction afterwards, saying that he was impressed with Fetterman. He even described the Democrat as being a “commonsense person.”

“I’m not that guy. I’m not going to be that Democrat,” Fetterman declared on The View as Whoopi Goldberg shifted uncomfortably in her chair. “For me, you know, there’s things I’m going to agree with, I’m going to disagree with, but I’m in the business of finding wins for Pennsylvania and for the nation.”

This bipartisan approach comes as CNN’s own reporters acknowledge growing public support for Trump’s presidency. As one CNN correspondent recently admitted—in a moment of rare candor—data shows Americans “really like what they’re seeing” with President Trump’s leadership.

Liberal Media Meltdown

The positive meeting has triggered a wave of criticism from progressive circles, with some questioning Fetterman’s loyalty to the Democratic party. However, the senator dismissed these concerns directly on The View, even as Joy Behar visibly winced at his words.

“I hope, maybe you [who] are watching, you’re tired of just the venom and the hate,” Fetterman told the audience. “I’d want more bipartisan kinds of things.”

Fetterman’s comments come as major changes sweep through liberal media outlets, with CNN’s Trump critic Jim Acosta announcing his departure and the network facing declining viewership—a trend that shouldn’t surprise anyone paying attention.

The senator’s candid assessment of Trump’s presidency and willingness to work across the aisle represents a significant shift in Democratic rhetoric. While progressive media figures and some party loyalists continue to resist any cooperation with the Trump administration, Fetterman’s pragmatic approach suggests a growing recognition that effective governance requires moving beyond partisan hostility.

As more Democrats face the reality of Trump’s successful policy implementation and growing public support, Fetterman’s pragmatic approach may serve as a template for future bipartisan cooperation. If the ladies of The View don’t get with the times soon, they may quickly find themselves out of the job!

Can’t stand the guy, was not a fan of how he ‘wom’ the election when I was still there but it is nice to see common decency from someone on that side of the aisle - a true outlier, for sure but still nice to see.

More winning.

But getting the Left to stop their war against America and the Right is not enough to recover America's Free Constitutional Republic.

The 80%+ unconstitutional portion of the feds MUST GO!!!!

Fetterman is the only adult currently in the Democrat party. He is a throw back to the old style blue collar Dems. The Alt Left that has taken over the Democrat party want it to be an ideological religion. A politician has to be either hysterically angry and incoherent about the same thing they are or they are a heretic

No worries, I'm sure they all went home and engaged in an extended "Two Minutes Hate" session that probably lasted an hour, just to make up for the show.

“The positive meeting has triggered a wave of criticism from progressive circles...”

Allow me to translate: “crossing the aisle” only works when Republicans cave to the extreme left Democrats.

That was disappointing, but not surprising.

But Fetterman was one of six Democrat senators who voted to confirm Kristi Noem as DHS secretary. So for me the jury is still out.

I was under the impression he might support some of Trump’s nominees as well.

So far not so much however.

Exactly, that counts for a lot more than saying something nice about Trump.
