‘Tyranny Of The Left’: James Carville Unloads On Dems Over Not Allowing Dissenting Opinions On Sex Changes, Border
Daily Caller ^ | December 19, 2001 | Jason Cohen

Posted on 12/19/2024 8:49:27 AM PST by Red Badger

Democratic strategist James Carville criticized his party on Thursday for suppressing dissent on issues like sex changes and border policy.

Carville’s remarks follow Democratic Rep. Seth Moulton of Massachusetts calling out his party on Nov. 10 for attempting to “cancel people rather than having debates about issues that Americans care about” following backlash to his comments regarding transgender athletes competing in female sports. Carville, on “Politics War Room,” accused Democrats of enforcing a tyrannical adherence to their “philosophy” that undermines the party’s electability.

“Anybody that questions the absolute, unquestionable benefits of transition surgery is going to be called this equivalent of being against civil rights or being against women having the right to vote … somebody can fact-check me, it’s banned in Nordic countries,” Carville said. “I think the liberal Labor government of Britain just passed legislation on that question.”

Norway, Finland, Sweden and the UK have all restricted or banned sex change surgeries, hormones and puberty blockers for children, due to finding that there is insufficient evidence that the benefits outweigh the costs. The UK, which was the latest to ban the use of so-called puberty-blocking drugs on Dec. 11 did so after medical experts warned of an “unacceptable safety risk.”

“But you can’t — if you say the border, we should have had something different — well, that makes you a racist. If you say that we should proceed with caution on this transition surgery … then you’re slammed. And the tyranny of the left is tyranny. And not only tyranny that it causes people grief, it loses us elections, people,” Carville said. “And I got to tell you … there are people that think this, and I’m increasingly agreeing with them.”

“There are a substantial number of people in the Democratic Party — almost exclusively coastal, almost exclusively white, almost exclusively higher-educated — that would rather lose and feel superior about themselves than have to go through the trouble to do the stuff it takes necessary to win an election,” he continued. “And as long as that philosophy is part of the Democratic coalition, it is going to continue to cause unbelievable damage to our electoral prospects. I cannot say it any simpler than that.”

Moulton also said on Dec. 3 that he anticipates he will face a primary challenge due to his criticism of Democrats’ position on transgender athletes, thus failing what he referred to as the “liberal litmus tests.”

“We seem to have a set of liberal litmus tests, and if you don’t meet those litmus tests, then you’re not even allowed to share your opinion,” Moulton said. “I mean, this is the attitude that a lot of Americans feel the Democratic Party takes to the entire country. If you don’t agree with us, then not only are you wrong, but you’re a bad person and these things are not up for debate.”

“I probably will be primaried, and that’s — that just proves my point, is that you can’t speak a sentence that’s out of line and not get backlash from the left, but that’s okay,” he added.

In the words of John McClane (in a classic Christmas movie) “Welcome to the party, pal!” Is Carville just now getting it? He will be savaged by his own side.

I’ve mentioned this before - Carville is actually pretty savvy, but you cannot take anything he says for face value in the runup to an election. That’s all performance to get the vote out and get his ‘clients’ the win. Pure mercenary.

Post-election + a few weeks and you start to see him being a real person again, and real honest advice and observations flow.

He doesn’t take anything personally, and effectively uses/manipulates those that do.

The first and most important thing to know about anyone — is whether they can tell right from wrong — rather than telling you that it doesn’t matter — because it is all the same, and life is just a random crapshoot. They will insist that “discrimination” is the same as “prejudice” — instead of pointing out that a prejudiced and biased person has their mind made up and will not examine the facts of each case (discern the truth) — “without prejudice.” Thus, they will conflate one thing with every other — and convince one that up is down, left is right, men are women, all politicians are the same, and you get what you pay for, etc. — all the familiar sayings of the modern con-artists — who insist they should do all your thinking for you. Then all one has to do is march down the street and chant whatever they tell you.

Those are the familiar scenes one sees in the media these days — usually edited, distorted and suppressed by those in mass communications who have perfected such techniques. But all is not lost because the citizenry have to hone their skills at distinguishing these differences, and the significant from the con.

It didn’t matter how much money was flim-flammed from the gullible — and spent on entertainment and other distractions — in lieu of substance and significance. The populace could distinguish the fake from the authentic, and after being fooled into buying “damaged goods” in the previous election, were determined not to be convinced into buying “defective goods,” in this election — and four years is not enough time to forget how much better we had it under the previous administration — when the cities were all intact rather than the ghost towns they’ve become.

It’s not the same. What intelligent person wouldn’t want change?

I would still have him tried for treason and hanged, primarily for helping the Clintons start all of this mess. It REALLY started with them and he helped them.

Snakehead knows how politics works, he saved the situation when Clinton went commie early and had to back off after getting wiped out in the mid-term election 2 years into his first term. Today’s Democrats kept pushing instead of adjusting and here we are.

To late James, way to late.

Your support of Kamala and Biden has forced your party so far to the left that they can’t even hear the middle anymore. It’s just to far away from the nutcase liberals that run the DNC. Don’t worry, with vote rigging and no voter ID the democrats can remain in power in many places, you just won’t be able to recognize them soon.....

Corporal Cueball has ever been this. Totally leftist on the campaign circuit and then when they lose he pretends to have been a voice of reason. He’s a totalitarian baby murderer like the rest of his ilk.

That may be.

Or maybe they feel they're almost to the point of perfecting their massive voter fraud operation and soon won't need to worry about appealing to voters in order to win elections.

We'll see. 🫤

Putting political views aside, I bet an off-the-record conversation with both Carville and Bill Clinton would be very interesting.
