Reactions have come fast and hard following Kash Patel's nomination to lead the FBI. Donald Trump made the selection amid years of corruption and abuse within the nation's top law enforcement agency, citing Patel's role in uncovering the Russian collusion hoax.
To be sure, though, his resume extends much further, having held numerous high-level positions in the Pentagon, DOJ, and NSC. Anyone claiming he's not "qualified" is simply not telling the truth.
Still, some are trying to make that case by sharing a quote from Bill Barr's 2022 tell-all book in which he trashed Patel as having "virtually no experience that would qualify him to serve at the highest level of the world’s preeminent law enforcement agency." At the time, Barr was referring to the possibility of Patel becoming deputy director at the FBI.
If I could only write one more sentence for this article, it would be this: I can't think of a better endorsement for Patel to serve as FBI director than that.

Your terms are acceptable.
If he’s unacceptable to the deep state then I’m all for him.
Problemo numero uno right there. I guess that's why they they're justified in trying to overthrow a duly elected prez in 2016 - because someone without FBI agent experience was elected.
In case he hasn't heard, in the United States, the President runs the executive branch and the only requirement to be elected is to be a citizen and 35 y.o..
And he may not also know that the prez can make appointments to do things like run agencies including the FBI.
These are civil positions and even the military is subordinate to that civil authority. The military doesn't seem to have a problem respecting a prez, what makes the FBI so special?
All appointees and employees are subordinate to the civil authority of the prez. If they, Barr included, don't like that, they need to shut up and GTFO.
That chart says it all!!!!!
“The military doesn’t seem to have a problem respecting a prez, what makes the FBI so special?”
The proverbial “mic drop”.
I think now that it time for Republicans to call out the racism in all the opposition to this man of color to be the first ever person of color to head the FBI.
“I think now that it time for Republicans to call out the racism in all the opposition to this man of color to be the first ever person of color to head the FBI”.
That’s right. And lay it on thick.
“Furthermore, Patel had virtually no experience that would qualify him to serve at the highest level of the world’s preeminent law enforcement agency”. Chrissie Wray was though, huh?
preeminent
or pre-em·i·nent
[ pree-em-uh-nuhnt ]
Phonetic (Standard)
IPA
adjective
eminent above or before others; superior; surpassing:
He is preeminent in his profession.
So take a pic of Patel with aviators in a navy polo and khakis, on the patio at Fire Island. Legit.
Preeminent? Sure. /sarc
Who made Bill Barr president?
Gotta love that 4th branch of government, not in the Constitution, right?
Chris Wray had no background as an fbi agent, so we know this is not a prerequisite. More BS from BB. For that matter, Patel is clearly more qualified than Wray was, whose main qualification was that he was Chris Christie’s personal lawyer in the bridgegate fiasco.
Herbert Hoover was never an FBI agent.
Can we get it in writing?
Barr blew up his own argument in the third sentence. Case closed, Bagpipes!
Natural born citizen. Not merely a citizen.
HAHAHA! Yes indeed!
No, he wasn't and never head of the FBI either.
What does he have to do with anything?
