No, Peanut The Squirrel did NOT have rabies. However, when I asked my Amazon Alexa Echo Dot what happened to Peanut The Squirrel she INCORRECTLY replied that Peanut was diagnosed with rabies. Is the Amazon Alexa so much into taking up the government's side that it will actually LIE to protect the government? The answer appears to be YES.

Way too many people relying on AI/comp. voice “assistants”/main stream media for supposed “answers”! Lots of bad info. out there! “I saw it on the Internet”/”ChatPGT said so”/”Alexa/Siri said it”....”so it must be true!”.
There is a weird thing going on with AI right now. It's called, "AI hallucinations."
Basically, people are using AI chatbots to generate reports, etc. Just as AI image generators have problems with things like adding extra limbs, human hands with extra fingers, etc., the chatbots also add extra nonsensical and/or false information to the text they generate.
The bad part of these is that folks, such as police agencies, are using these chatbots to write reports, or law firms using them to write briefs that contain non-existent cases, or in a recent instance, a state education administration using it to define cell phone policies.
They are doing this to save time, effort, etc. The real problem is that these are official documents that can have a dire, negative effect on peoples' lives.
Exactly. 10 day quarantine. You only euthanize if the animal has symptoms of rabies. Squirrels rarely carry rabies.
They euthanize so they can examine the brain and know immediately whether the animal has rabies.
If it bit someone, that human needs to know now, not in ten days. In ten days, the rabies is much harder to eradicate should the human be infected.

A. You can’t “murder” a damn squirrel.
B. Alexa can’t lie because lying by definition requires intent to deceive, and Alexa is incapable of having intentions.
So mark whoever wrote this tripe as a propagandist, or an idiot, or both (your choice).
And no Alexa did not (and cannot) lie. It's like saying your telephone lies. The folks on the other end of the wire lied.

NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation NYSDEC is impossible to deal with. Imbeciles whose job is to make life miserable for NY businesses and people. Immune to facts, science and common sense. There was no need to kill the squirrel, just give the bitten agent rabies vaccinations.
This story should be used as a learning experience for millions of Americans. The government is uncaring, dangerous, stupid and incompetent. This raid supposedly happened because some Karen lady in Texas was jealous of the squirrel for getting more followers than her on Instagram or one of those sites. She’s reaping the response for her actions right now. It’s all fun and games until the government shows up with their guns.

You can’t imagine it because you’re not on a power trip like they are. Some people get their jollies by causing others misery and pain some we call psychopaths others we call NY law enforcement.
It would be a ugly mess if 12 feds showed up on my front porch in battle rattle. I have prepared for just such a day. My Guinea pig would not be worth the trouble they would encounter.

NOTE: A few minutes ago I again asked Alexa the same question, "What happened to Peanut the Squirrel?" and again Alexa replied that Peanut had been euthanized AFTER being diagnosed with rabies. So the Alexa LIE continues.
