The New York Times website could be shut down on election day as the newspaper’s Tech Guild has threatened to go on strike. The union sent a letter to the Board of Directors on Friday, warning that an agreement must be made by election day to avoid interruptions.
TIME IS RUNNING OUT, @nytimes!!
We’re at Grand Army Plaza today, Scabby in tow, to warn NYC that their hometown paper is at risk of shutting down — unless we get the contract we deserve! ✊ pic.twitter.com/h6d8Xnsio8

Negotiations between the union and the newspaper have been ongoing for three years.
The Tech Guild represents approximately 700 workers who authorized a strike in September.
This morning, our bargaining committee sent a letter to the members of the @NYTimes board of directors, informing them that Times representatives have demonstrated an unwillingness at the table to be reasonable on key contract demands. pic.twitter.com/l5LhPyrHz1

Oh No!.....Anyway. That’s a shame
Oh no! If the NYT website goes down, where will get get my lies???
It’s a pay site and I wouldn’t give them a nickel, so little loss
Oh the humanity!
Wish it would go down tonight.
That would be a real shame.
Oh no. Whatever will EPU do with his time if he can’t post NYT here. 🙄
One less “News” to call the election before all the polls have closed?
GOOD!
In any case “Union” = communist and organized crime, so %%%% them all.
Where would you get your bird cage liner?
I like the electoral map they have on election day...
NY Times election night website is about the best around for keeping track of vote counts. State results, Senate results, House District results. Even had the results for individual counties. The election result pages were propaganda free, and the only worthwhile thing that the Times puts out.
Well said.
This is good news for conservatives, given that if their website goes down, we won’t have to read their propaganda anymore.
Careful guys, or you might find yourselves replaced by Indian scabs who won’t even have to cross a picket line.
Ah shucks.
I am sure there will be many other biased sources to suppress the West Coast Vote via announcing “Trends” and “Exit Polls” before our polls close.
Would anyone notice?
Do it! Don’t tease us.
