Biden repeatedly acts like he is above the law. So who’s the threat to Democracy?
The Wall Street Journal reports Biden Snubs the Courts Again on Student Loan Forgiveness
‘That didn’t stop me,” President Biden declared after the Supreme Court blocked his $430 billion student loan write-off in 2023. It sure didn’t. After striking out in court with three debt forgiveness schemes, the Administration on Friday unveiled another. Take that, judges.
The Education Department says its proposed rule would authorize forgiveness for some eight million borrowers experiencing “hardship.” Under the rule, the department can discharge debt if it calculates a borrower has an 80% likelihood of defaulting on payments within the subsequent two years based on 17 factors such as income, debt balances and assets.
The rule would effectively let the department forgive debt of any borrower any time it wants. The administration says high child-care costs could qualify as a hardship. How about high auto loan or credit-card payments? Did someone say moral hazard?
In April the department released a plan that cancels accrued interest for 25 million borrowers and forgives debt of those who entered repayment over 20 years ago or who “enrolled in low-financial-value programs”—meaning, forprofit colleges. The plan also promised to waive debt for borrowers with a “hardship.”
A federal court last month blocked that plan, but the department says its new rule “would operate separately and distinctly.” Courts are playing whack-a-mole with the Administration’s debt write-offs that end-run Congress, which never authorized such broad-based debt forgiveness.
Such lawlessness is one reason so many Americans discount the left’s assertions that Donald Trump endangers democracy. Mr. Biden acts like he’s king, and Democrats and media voices cheering him on have no standing to object if Mr. Trump follows the Biden precedent.
Please recall that when Harris was asked what she would have done differently than Biden, she could not come up with a single thing.
She supports Biden’s energy policy to ban gasoline engines, Biden’s immigration policy, the Inflation Reduction Act, Medicare for All, and student loan forgiveness.
She lied about supporting fracking, backed off that, and now the lie is back on again.
If you missed it, please see The NYT Has Another Great Poll for Trump, Tipping Point is Immigration
In yet another display of momentum for Trump, the New York Times has Trump tied nationally.
On October 21, I commented October 21: In California, Harris Is Down 21 Percentage Points With Latinos vs 2020
And while the The Immigrant Crime Spree is Real, Not Imaginary, Thank Harris and Biden that’s not really what the backlash against immigration is really about.
If people were not struggling with shelter, food, insurance, etc., they would not be so upset with immigration.
The backlash against immigration is really a backlash against inflation and the economy. That is what’s behind the shift towards Trump.
And it’s why this election is not the tossup everyone says it is.
Finally, Trump is Trump, but Harris is nothing but Biden with a very annoying laugh.
What the government givith the government can taketh away. Loan forgiveness is taxable.
Let’s do away with the DOE.
That ain’t kamalama in that ai art-
BTTT
Just another attempt to buy votes.
Accused of having a low IQ, Harris responds “Me not am stupid”.
Nothing is ever settled until it is settled the way the Left wants it settled. The rule of law is simply an obstacle to overcome or work around.
That is why some day it will be that the only way to end leftism here will be through a Pinochet or Millei or Franco, meaning the end of the republic—to misqoute a Vietnam War truism, we will have to destroy the nation in order to save it. I hope I do not live to see it, I hope even more my children do not live to see it.
If they can get away with it it’s ok. Doesn’t stop them does it?
I guess the Republicans can always impeach him. *snicker*
“Biden snubs the Courts again on student loan forgiveness”
Well SCOTUS, what are you going to do now. The ball is in your court.
The government should not be in the business of issuing student loans. I know, I am preaching to the choir.
It is not government’s role.
Beyonce? AI is so confused.
Bidenskyyyyyyyyy should have been arrested a log time ago.
There should be some sort of enforcement mechanism in place so that this couldn’t happen. This has been an honor system in the past, but it’s clear that Biden has none.
The USSC will properly say "enforcement of the law is not in our job description, that is up the Congress".
The Founders might say:
1. The Executive Branch at Biden's direction intentionally and improperly gave away taxpayer monies to Biden's friends as determined by the Judicial Branch.
2. The Legislative Branch should exercise its authority to legislate a means by which a President is liable for such willful violation to repay the taxpayers out of his personal funds including his pension benefits.
Who is the woman next to Biden?
yeah looks morel ike beyonce than kamala

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument
Democratic and Republican Trump supporters are reminded of the following. The drafters of the Constitution have not only never given the feds the express power to dictate policy, regulate, tax and spend for INTRAstate educational purposes, but even if the states had given the feds such powers, it remains that the drafters gave the "power of the purse" uniquely to Congress (House), not the executive branch.
More specifically, noting that unconstitutional federal taxes to fund vote-winning student debt loans are a consequence of Congress's abuse of its 16th Amendment powers (16A; direct taxes) imo, here's historical excerpts from respected constitutional experts concerning the federal government's constitutionally limited powers (hint), actually no power to tax and spend for 10th Amendment schools, which desperate elite Democrats are ignoring.
"16th Amendment : The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived [emphasis added], without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."
"The great mass of the articles on which impost is paid is foreign luxuries, purchased by those only who are rich enough to afford themselves the use of them. Their patriotism would certainly prefer its continuance and application to the great purposes of the public education, roads, rivers, canals, and such other objects of public improvement as it may be thought proper to add to the constitutional enumeration of federal powers [emphasis added].” —Thomas Jefferson: 6th Annual Message, 1806." (Jefferson is indicating that Congress cannot tax and spend in the name of intrastate infrastructure imo.)
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
"The power to regulate manufactures is no more confided to congress, than the power to interfere with the systems of education, the poor laws, or the road laws of the states [emphasis added]." —Justice Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 2, 1833.
The congressional record shows that Rep. John Bingham, a constitutional lawmaker, had clarified the federal government's constitutionally limited powers as follows.
”Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government [emphases added]. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country.” —John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.
“Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. If once they become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors, shall all become wolves [emphasis added]. It seems to be the law of our general nature.” - Thomas Jefferson (Letter to Edward Carrington January 16, 1787)
Pelosi: "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it." (non-FR; 6 sec.)
Illegals are indeed getting immediate Social Security, contrary to Democrat claims (7.11.24)
Democrats [and RINOs] Are Terrified Of An Educated And Informed Public (3.12.23)
Again, post-17th Amendment ratification (17A; popular voting for federal senators) lawmakers are using executive branch to front-end unconstitutional taxing and spending based on Congress's abuse of its 16A powers, this time for forgivable unconstitutional federal student loans, to try to win votes for desperate Democrats and RINOs in a presidential election year imo.
Since Congress and renegade states have repeatedly proven that they are enemies of the people imo, it is now up to Democratic and Republican Trump supporters to effectively "impeach and remove" ALL (exceptions?) state and federal lawmakers and executives in November.
In fact, it's up to us Trump supporters to take the first MAJOR step in draining the swamp by supporting hopeful Trump 47 with a new, Constitution-respecting Congress, new state lawmakers too, not only so that he will not be a lame duck president from the first day of his second term, but will support him to quickly finish draining the swamp.
Supporting Trump to finish draining the swamp includes supporting him to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes by leading the states to repeal 16&17A, effectively "seceding" ALL the states from the unconstitutionally big federal government by doing so.
Finally, let's not allow the anti-Trump media try to fade our memories of what we witnessed on July 13.
