49-year-old Vem Miller, arrested near former President Donald Trump’s rally in Coachella, California, has spoken out, denouncing claims of an assassination attempt and blasting the ‘fake news’ surrounding the incident.
Miller, who called himself a staunch Trump supporter, was taken into custody after Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies found firearms in his vehicle during a routine checkpoint stop. However, he fiercely denies any intent to harm the former president.
Miller’s arrest came after law enforcement found a shotgun, a handgun, and a high-capacity magazine in his vehicle, along with what authorities initially claimed were counterfeit VIP and press passes for Trump’s rally.
He was released on $5,000 bail and now faces misdemeanor charges for possession of illegal firearms.
Despite these charges, Miller insists the incident has been blown wildly out of proportion. He claims that his possession of firearms was purely legal and registered, and he was merely exercising his Second Amendment rights.
Moreover, Miller asserts he had been invited to the rally and had legitimate special entry passes issued by the Republican Party of Nevada.
The Gateway Pundit reviewed Vem Miller’s Instagram account, and it revealed he was at the RNC Convention and attended other pro-Trump events with RFK Jr. and James O’Keefe.

He is stupid for thinking his constitutional right to keep and bear arms would not be infringed. /S
How did the cops know about the guns if they never left the vehicle? Were they in the trunk or were they visible in the passenger compartment? If they were plainly visible then he was an idiot inviting trouble.
Yes indeed!
This evil terrorist, who may also be (Oh! the horror!) a practicing Christian, needs to be prosecuted to the extent of the law for having the audacity to use his rights protected under that troublesome document: The Constitution...
Let’s keep in mind that the California Central Valley is predominately conservative, not to mention where most of the farmland is. Gun ownership is more common there than your average blue counties.
He says that he specifically told one of the Deputies directing parking traffic that he had legal firearms in his car, as a courtesy. Says he’s done that many times at previous rallies without a problem. This time, being California, they told him to exit the car and began conducting a search.
Sounds like Barney Fife and Gomer were in charge.
Better safe than sorry. God keep everyone safe and may the truth come to light.
There has been people reporting that a local Sheriff’s Deputy that new who Miller was and deputy was focusing on him and his vehicle to come up with a reason to search him and his vehicle.
Actually, he is:

No...I think the cop scared himself into believing he was saving the world.
lol...Of course!
This explains it all:
Vem Miller’s Statement about the “3rd Assassination Attempt” on Donald Trump (America Happens, Oct 14, 2024)
On October 12, 2024, Vem Miller was falsely accused by the Riverside Sheriff’s Department, of attempting to assassinate President
Donald Trump. This is Vem Miller telling the story of what actually transpired.
He’s being interviewed by Roger Stone right now.
bttt
Nice perky blonde with blue eyes and curly hair in there prior to this guy.
are guns banned at the rally?
Bongino reported this as a “nothing burger” yesterday. The weapons were in his car...I didn’t know that was against the law to have weapons in one’s vehicle. I’d been arrested too. I worry about the real assasins out there that conceal their weapons, identity, and location effectively. So far we’ve had two attempts by pikers.
“How did the cops know about the guns if they never left the vehicle? Were they in the trunk or were they visible in the passenger compartment? If they were plainly visible then he was an idiot inviting trouble.”
The defendant’s report is that HE told LEO about the guns as a courtesy.
You’re right: I had forgotten about that.
California gun laws are very restrictive. Essentially, you cant possess except where the law provides exceptions. Exceptions include in your home or at a range for example. Transport is a PITA because you can only transport between places you can legally possess, and when transporting the firearm is supposed to be unloaded and in a locked container (a trunk counts but a glove box does not in CA). Legally you cant even stop at a convenience store on your way home from the range. So lots of little PITA gotcha’s if a prosecutor wants to make something of it.
LEO’s and retired LEO’s have tons of exceptions to the above. I thought I saw one report that said the person involved may have a LEO background. Not sure about that. CCW holders also have exceptions. Thats good if you live in a county where your sheriff will actually let you have a CCW. Almost impossible to get a CCW in many counties in CA.
So unless he qualifies under a LEO or some other exception, CA law may say that he transported to a place that was not legal to possess (the rally).
I have been out of commie CA for many years now so my info may be dated, but I dont think much has changed, at least not for the better.
