Mark Halperin used to be a top political journalist at ABC, MSNBC, and Bloomberg News. Now his "Morning Meetings" and 2Ways on Zoom and YouTube are the best source I've discovered for intelligent, well-sourced, fair takes on the election.
[snip]
The YouTube of his post-debate 2Way is available here. Excerpts of Halperin's comments:
"Without a doubt, a total mismatch [in favor of Vance.]"
Abortion and J6 are tough issues for Republicans, but Vance "handled them as well as I've heard any Republican handle them."
"[Vance] was obviously extremely well prepared, but didn't seem rehearsed."
Walz' answer about lying about being in Hong Kong during Tiananmen was "ridiculous."
"I just can't understand, if you looked at the topics chosen by the moderators. If you looked at their fact-checking. If you looked at the way they allowed one candidate [Walz] to respond and not the other at times. [The moderators were] completely one-sided in how they ran the thing. They chose, as the previous moderators do, to gang up on one side."
"I thought Vance was the runaway winner. An overall drubbing."

Halperin is not a conservative, but calls them like he sees them. And he called the VP debate totally for Vance, while blasting the “disgusting” bias of the CBS moderators.
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
In the future, Republicans should flat out refuse to participate in any debate unless someone like Tucker Carlson or Charlie Kirk is one of the two moderators.
I think the big proof that Vance won in a huge fashion is that yesterday the liberal media wasn’t even trying to spin it as a Walz victory, instead they were assuring democrat voters that VP debates don’t matter and a good showing by Vance won’t help Trump any.
“Abortion and J6 are tough issues for Republicans”
The Soros paid propaganda machine has certainly made a mountain out molehills. Of all the issues facing America, it’s disgusting that CBS focused so much time on these unimportant issues.
Nobody outside the media and the beltway cares about J6. It’s irrelevant when you are trying to decide between food and rent because of Kumswalla’s inflation.
That doesn’t look like Mark Halprin, but then again Jimmy Carter didn’t look like himself yesterday either.
they ceased being debates right after Lincoln/Douglas.
On top of that proof came the Jack Smith criminality ejaculation to stop any momentum because now, the 7 a.m. EDT hour, all the morning shows are no doubt breathlessly leading off with how dire things are for Trump given the seriousness of the charges so close to the election and are punctuating it with their usual rigged polls showing Harris suddenly jumping ahead on the news.
That’s former Trump spokesman Sean Spicer, who is a regular member of the Morning Meeting crew.
I recall Halperin as just another MSLSD Hack.
“Conservative”?
Methinks not so much.
Grifter for a paycheck?
More than likely
“...the liberal media wasn’t even trying to spin it as a Walz victory, instead they were assuring democrat voters that VP debates don’t matter and a good showing by Vance won’t help Trump any.”
The liberal media, on this point, might be correct.
We say that every 4 years.
It’s like democrats promising to ‘help’ black communities and forgive student loans.
Like clockwork they propose it, then promptly forget it after the election
Agree j6 is ridiculous. Abortion however is a huge winning issue for Democrats. Blame suburban women.
Too bad they didn’t ask Walz to explain his lies about his military record. That would have been much better than asking where he was during the Tiananmen Square protest 35 years ago. This is more evidence of biased moderators.
I think there should be two moderators and each candidate gets to choose one of them.
Are you kidding? That would be LOGICAL and FAIR. We absolutely can’t have that! /s
Thanks Mark. Debate? LOL. Moderators? LOL. “The medium is the message”- Marshall McLuhan
One failure among many successes. When a moderator tried to get him to agree with the left’s global warming agenda, he did not challenge the premises upon which it is based but, instead, tried to talk himself around it. He did a good job at winning this skirmish, but the left will win the war on this agenda unless we challenge the false premises.
In a normal world that would be the end of those two cat ladies careers.
