The majority of Americans are bracing themselves for a third assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump before the November U.S. presidential election, according to a new survey.
Rasmussen Reports found that 65% of Americans expect another Trump assassination attempt.
According to the poll, two-thirds of likely voters “say it is likely that there will be more assassination attempts against Trump between now and Election Day, including 32% who believe it’s Very Likely.”

It has only happened once before that a candidate needed to be replaced after the Convention and before the election and that was in 1972 when McGovern dumped Eagleton as his running mate. In that case the entire DNC met to name a replacement but that was also in August. If this goes down in the next month I honestly have no idea what would happen next.

Here is a clue to my conundrum: over the 300 years the United States has been existence, what is the ratio of assassinations and assassination attempts targeting Republicans versus Democrats, either in office or running for office? Ratio of property damage by Republican versus Democrat "rioters"? (Paying particular attention to arson.)
Then consider another metric: what is the ratio of each of these occurrences by population density -- in cities versus rural areas. To put is more bluntly, between New York City and the cornfields of Iowa.
I was gonna say “third time’s charm”. But the next time they try will be attempt #4.

I don't know why they are so afraid. At best he will delay things for a couple of decades. The problem with the good guys is that they are not interested in running things long term. They want to fix the problem and go home. Which leaves an opening for the bad guys to slink back in.
