The 2024 presidential election is throwing up many firsts. While some, like the bait-and-switch candidacy, are blatantly oblivious, others are a little less pronounced.
One such shift is happening in Silicon Valley. Known as a Democrat bastion over the years, there is a notable shift in the tide. Billionaire entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and others with huge clout in the tech domain are throwing their weight behind Donald Trump. Elon Musk and David Sacks are just two prominent names on a list that is growing daily.
While the turn of events does not suggest that Silicon Valley is turning all red, the sector's disenchantment with Democrats is apparent. Being an incumbent in any election has its share of advantages but is also a time of reckoning. Harris's tenure as California's attorney general was largely favorable toward the tech industry, but her years as VP have taken away some of that sheen. The Biden-Harris administration, over its tenure, has lost powerful friends and created discontent among the tech giants.
Deeply unhappy with the current administration's backing of antitrust enforcement and hostile policies toward cryptocurrency, the most influential voices are moving away from Harris. Many in the tech world believe that the Democrats proposed tax on unrealized capital gains will sound the death knell for many startups and the venture capital industry.

It will be interesting to see if these shifts are enough to make a difference in November.
‘Course we have to balance this against the shift of all the JOYFUL people to Harris-Walz.
Silicon Valley is not turning red. Some businessmen are throwing support behind a business friendly candidate, but will continue to pursue other lunatic liberal politics.
Wouldn’t it be something if Trump could somehow flip CA?
Finally got deep enough in their pockets? I doubt it.
“Silicon Valley is not turning red. Some businessmen are throwing support behind a business friendly candidate, but will continue to pursue other lunatic liberal politics.”

That would be a bit of a stretch. Biden got 11.1M votes here, to Trump’s 6.0M
Agreed. I live in Silicon Valley and don’t see any shift.
But I DO notice that I still see more Obama bumper stickers than I see Harris bumper stickers. And nary a Harris yard sign, either. No joy here.
The still are donating buckets of money to the communist party aka the dnc.
We are so tired of everyone only caring about what’s good for themselves. It’s time make decisions on what’s good for the country. MAGA!
The shifts occur, but the polls don’t move and The Party always wins. Isn’t that amazing?
The systematic demolition of LA, and now SF, and turning the entire state into a illegal migrants' camp, while eliminating the ban on so-called affirmative action in university admissions.
When I walk my neighborhood here in SoCal there are a some Trump signs and flags out. However, I have only seen one Harris sign.
Never fear…open borders are here!
Hopefully this doesn’t mean Trump will continue to allow h1b workers from India to continue to flood the country as a favor for the big tech support
Money trumps ideology ..............
This interview of Whitney Webb is interesting.
Intelligence agencies, Silicon Valley Oligarchs…..Wall Street …
Whitney Webb EXPOSES Kamala, Trump, Israel And More! (Interview)
I know, but still, imagine the sight of liberal heads spinning clear off their bodies.
“We are so tired of everyone only caring about what’s good for themselves. It’s time make decisions on what’s good for the country. MAGA!”
Agreed. Perhaps there should be a sign at every voting location to “Vote for America.” It would probably come as a revelation to many voters.
Too many immigrants. Too many illegals.
